Checkin in Hello everyone.. 7 days for me! Was off the net for the weekend as my mother was here visiting from out of town. Really felt like a beer Saturday night, but decided not to. Really wanted a beer last night, but decided not to. And thats all so far.

I appreciate it. I certainly dont feel strong though. However, I DO feel great, not having drank in 7 days. I especially felt awesome when I was at work waitressing last night and one of the other waitresses was hung over and felt like "a**" in her words. I had to smile to myself...actually, no, it wasn't to myself...I bragged to her and everyone else that I hadnt drank for a week and feel awesome, lol.

Working on day 8 myself, easy to count since I started on the first. Just one day at a time. Anyways, when I start to feel like a beer or something, I grab a pop. I think that half of the urge is to just have something in my hand to drink. I seem to always have a coke, coffee, root beer, or something in my hand. Once I start to drink a soda, the urge to drink something alcoholic (a beer) goes away. I've become a root beer fanatic. I love gourmet root beer like IBC, Thomas Kemper, Henery's. Thomas Kemper is my favorite. I alway have some on hand. I also buy the more available brands like A&W, Hires, Dads by the case. Root beer is good because it, with the exception of one or two brands, doesn't have caffine. I've been researching on how to make my own now.
