TOPIC: The 4 Absolutes Of Recovery: Honesty, Unselfishness, Love And Purity.

Hi im Sharon and im an Alcoholic.

By the Grace of my HP and people
like you here in SR I havent had a
drink of alcohol since 8-11-90.

For that im truely grateful.

Here's a topic that I wanted to bring
to SR for you to share your thoughts
and ESH on.

The 4 ABSOLUTES OF RECOVERY:

HONESTY, UNSELFISHNESS, LOVE
AND PURITY.

Before i got sober these 4
ABSOLUTES were far from
being perfect. Honesty...well
to be completely honest in
all my affairs wasn't there.
Drinking caused me to lie
countless times with my
family, my spouse, my job.

Selfishness....i was selfish
then and i am still selfish in
many ways today as i spend
money on my selfish needs to
cope with my oh poor Sharon's
unhappy syndrom....she's not
at home back in Baton Rouge
....so ill buy myself things to
make up for my loneliness,
bordom, sad-ness.

And i wont cook a grand meal
for the holidays because i hate
the house we live in. and i wont
buy presents or decorate because
this house sucks.


Love....who have i loved over
the yrs....myself....na...i wish
i loved myself more....but my
selfish ways keeps me from
loving that person who thinks
only of her self.

I do love my pets however...
thats the unconditional love im
learning to learn love from.

Purity...hmmm....can i be alsolutely
pure in thoughts and action....
today i remain teachable.

I just learned of this quote
and it says alot to me....I think
i will reflect on this more now and
try to incorparate those 4 ABSOLUTES
better in my sober recovery life today.
