Hi everyone! My name is Megan and I am from Michigan. I have been sober since August 21, 2006 but have been unable to attend meetings due to an ongoing illness, so I thought that this would be a good alternative. I am addicted to perscription drugs ( I don't have one of choice, I have many) and I am still suffering from withdrawls, even though its been almost 3 months. Benzos are not fun to come off of. I have permanent memory problems now, my body has spasms frequently, and I shake uncontrollably at times. I have had chronic daily migraines for 11 years now and that's how the pills started. I still have head pain daily, but it is much more tolerable than it wsa while I was using. I would love to talk to some of you and find out a little about your stories, as that is what motivates me to stay sober. Thank you, Megan |

Hi Megs, I moved your post to a thread of its own so that you could get a proper welcome. Congratulations on 3 months clean from drugs. That's terrific!

Glad to have you! I hope this turns out to be a good alternative for you and I know you'll find lots of folks who relate to your problem. Actually, you may even find more in the Substance Abuse forum.

Welcome, Megan--Glad you found us. My DOC's were alcohol and marijuana. So far, I have been sober for a little over 2 and half years. It can be done! Hope you will stick around and keep posting.
