I know, wearing our heart on our sleeve does leave us open to getting hurt, but it also leaves us open to finding love, joy, beauty and magic.

I was going to wait, but it feels like the right time:

Nick and I are getting married on September 23. Yes, really.

When Nick proposed to me (on here, for those of you who may not know ), we said VERY SERIOUSLY that you are all invited to our wedding. Well, you are.

I appreciate that Columbus is not everyone's backyard, but, if you feel like a little drive or flight, (OK, not so little from Australia, UK, Europe), we would love you to come.

We are getting married on Scioto River (outside), small simple ceremony in the afternoon of Saturday 23rd. Not sure of more details yet, but it's booked.

May I say gulp.

Gulp.

We are very happy....only a slightly nervous jittery Suze....it's a lot to do on my own, as in without any female friends right here with me. I am going to need help. (Girls , help please!!!) s ♥

I'm in for another 24 hours, please!

Thanks for the cake, SoberLeigh. Yum!

Hubby and I are gearing up for the solar eclipse. We are lucky and only need to drive about 1 hour outside of our city and we'll be in the path of totality. It's been HUGE news here in our rural state of Idaho for months. Lots of fear mongering, too, that we're going to get a huge influx of visitors from the neighboring states, vying to see the eclipse. As locals, we know all the secluded spots on mountain tops, so we are venturing into the wild this Sunday and aren't not too worried about being able to find a viewing location that we'll have all to ourselves. I am definitely not looking forward to the drive back home, however. If the traffic is as bad as they predict, our 1 hour drive could turn into 4 (or more)!

Love to Kris, Kenton and Neo.

I am so happy and grateful to be marrying my lovely Suze, and I will be forever grateful for this fantastic site and thread, which not only saved my life, but is where I met my one true love.

Suze, I love you now and forever and always. I will always strive to be the best husband in the world to you. I will always love and cherish and take care of you.

We have a truly blessed life together ahead of us.

So much love

Im feeling ok and its a nice day.

I think i finally understood that willpower and knowing my triggers is not enough. There has to be real change and things can never go back "to the way they were" I have been trying to beat this crazy thing on willpower and trying to avoid my triggers but its never going to work.

Real change is only going to work. But how do i go about finding it, grasping it, ensuring it. Is it time to work the AA steps.... I've always avoided that like the plague - but maybe i need to look into the spiritual side ?
, the Vman. Sounds like a terrific plan.

I know that I had a lot of healing to do - physically, mentally and spiritually - so much more to recovery than sobriety.
