SE- you sound happy. And aware. And productive in recovery.
Peaches- yum. Flip-fl's (we call them thongs)- a repair tool when the main thong fatigues around the hole where the rubber bit goes next to the big toe. On the underside- use a bread bag fastener to widen the surface area. Thongs do not squeak.

Hi, SereneEdition! Welcome back!

That's an ingenious idea about the twist tie, PJ!

Gilly- there was even a kid's program here, all stereotypical Aussie family on the brink on everyday disaster - called 'The flamin' thong's'.

Yep PJ,
A pretty good week.

Thanks Mags,
I'm pleased too.
I don't know where you get the idea we have senior living eberywhere like Sassy has. Personally I thought you Brits had the fancy retirement home from decades of watching old "Waiting For God" reruns of the elegant dining room and apartments at Bayview seen in the opening credits. I love that show like M.A.S.H. and Reruns of "The Rifleman" and early 1/2 hour episodes of "Gunsmoke."

Andy tell Mrs Terrific I'm rooting for her too!

Sassy,
As soon as I posted that we had stuffed peppers with boar sausage and how gourmet my wife's cooking is, it seems I jinxed it. It wasn't terrible or tainted just bland so we added a bunch of Louisiana hot sauce and a few drops of Maggi and voila! Edible. The other sausage that was in casings was to die for. This was a pound roll like breakfast sausage and just too bland. She accused me of jinxing her!

(cue N.Y. mafioso accent) Hey! FBL! Whadidja do wit my camel? I come here expectin camel and you got nuthin! Marone! Glad your mom's is nice too.

Midwest,
You too? But they have to be dredged in watered down egg, then in self rising cornmeal and some AP flour. That gives the crisp that doesn't soggy out too soon. Yum! Hope your drive is easy and your mom's procedure goes well.

Hi Gil! That was sweet.

Hey Star, I've never did my drinking perched on a post before. I hope you didn't relapse (tongue firmly planted <grin>)

Ip,
Sounds like serenity.

Speaking of Serene, WB SE!

Eye surgery got moved up to Monday next.

Will be over 105° F (40.55C) heat index tomorrow! Gotta cut grass.

Gotta rack! G'nite overs

Morning overs

Welcome back SereneEdition,

Itchy, I love waiting for God and yes, their rooms were pretty good, they're doing reruns of it at the mo of one of the channels. I'm going to investigate a bit further about the quality of our OFH s! Been thinking of making stuffed peppers , it's what to put inside them stumps me! All the best for the eye surgery! I got the accent you spoke to Fbl in, very funny!

I've got an hospital appointment today with specialist. When I saw him last he said if I didn't get any better they may try allergy injections on me! See if it helps.

Hope it's a good Thursday for all of us.

I was talking about Eaiting for God on our class thread recently. Mags do you remember Stephanie Cole in Tenko? That seemed such a wonderful drama series at the time. Never seen repeats to know if it aged well.
And I think Peej means the flattened plastic clip thingies rather than twisters!

Great to see you again Serenity.

Must dash, masses to do today got a noon wedding to attend and a 3 hour drive to get there. Need to have my face & hair looking half way decent. ( considering I got about 3 hours sleep and consequently look like a bloodhound is not helping!)

Good morning Overs.

Saskia - Big hug delivered, Mrs Terrific says 'Hi' and thank you.

Hi SereneEdition, great to meet you.

InPar, I have a calm image of you and your dog.

A picture of the copper mine at Miami AZ were my Granddad worked in the 1920's, just popped up on the screen of Mrs T's computer. Anyone know if it is still there?

Have a good day everyone.

I didn't see Tenko, toots. In the day when I was a workaholic I think. Enjoy the wedding.

Hi Andy and mrs Terrific. Hope it's a good day for you x

Thanks, Toots!

The flat plastic bread bag scruncher is an even better idea!

Best wishes with the eye surgery, Itch.

I hope the allergy shots bring the asthma problem under control once and for all, Mags.

Itch, word has it that the camel just might be tied up in a room somewhere. If you're good, my associates just might let him out next week.

Have a Thunderous Thursday, overs!

Welcome back, SE!

Itchy, good luck with the eye surgery,

Mags, perhaps I should clarify that by OFH I do not mean a nursing home. Where I live is called a "Life Care Community". There are 3 parts to it: independent living (apartments and cottages) and in a separate building there is Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing. The skilled nursing part is what many people think of as an OFH.

IP, you sound so much more relaxed 😎

Toots, hope you enjoy the wedding!

Hi SG, Gilmer, Midwest, FBL, Andy, PJ and everyone else reading this

Good morning!

Itchy- My dad always made fried green tomatoes in flour...I have used cornmeal and I really like the crunch too! I have a feeling your idea of bland food would still knock me over! lol. I am glad you were able to get your eye surgery scheduled.

Mags- best of luck when you see the specialist. I hope they can help you.

Toots- I hope you have a fun trip and a good time at the wedding.

did you guys see the news story about the yeast dough that ended up all over the interstate in Tacoma, Washington? It got so hot the dough rose in the truck and spilled out. People were calling it in to 911. lol I guess it made quite a mess.

Evening overs

Sassy, no, I didn't think it was a nursing home but a very posh OFH! It makes sense with the three parts to it.

Been to specialists, he's referring me to ENT specialist. Wants to sort my sinuses first before he renews any more meds. I hate the feeling of helplessness when I'm in their care. Pull yourself together, girl!

It's a lovely evening outside here tonight. Hi to everyone.

MW- donuts? Frantic police raced to the scene before their coffee went all cold and not any good for 'dunkin'.?

Hi all -

Thanks for the warm welcome back! . It feels amazing! Thank you!!!!

Itchy - hoping that your surgery goes well!

You guys had me in stitches with flipflops/thongs - you know what thongs mean in the US: women's underwear.

I cooked shrimp tonight for the first time in my life. It was easy, fast, and turned out super tasty with a dusting of curry powder. I've never been much of a cook, so I'm excited to have tried something new and have it turn out well!

- serene

Forgot to mention this - it was all your conversations about good food that inspired me to try cooking shrimp! Yeah!

Morning overs

Serene, we have the same terminology for things in UK, too! I always come away from SR feeling inspired, to walk or cook or grow things and many more things, always with gratitude for being here.

Have a good Friday overs x
