Checking in for 24. Back from the countryside. My friend arranged a birthday for one of our school mates at his country house to celebrate. An all boys affair. I was a little nervous as I knew there would be a lot of alcohol. And there was: beer; wine; whisky of all sorts. But I was keen to go as I had not seen some of them for more than 30 years. It all went smoothly except for 5 hours of non-stop eating. Ooh, the weighing scales have been complaining ! Anyway, as the night went on, some of the lads started to babble as the alcohol took over. I was slightly annoyed though only slightly. It was just great to catchup. Despite all being middle aged men (and looking it), inside we all seemed largely the same characters. Perhaps a little wiser, sanguine, reflective. Health is rearing its head as some have had scares and procedures. Overall, I believe all were grateful to still be alive and mindful of how short life is. So go live it !
What a mighty roster of milestoners ! Some truly notable achievements. A shout out to Jo for 90 days ! Thats a good, solid foundation. And the weighty records of others are impressive indeed !

4 weeks later...I am,losing weight..swimming..eating healthy .except when led astray by Oreos..I smile...i laugh..my shocking pink hair is washed and ready to dazzle ...even thinking about a holiday next year.,started a little savings account from the money I used for Mr Smirnoff.and Mr Jack Daniels.
Think I'm just trying to say anyone on Day 1...or even thinking about it. Do it..The Hospital had washed their hands of me. So me being all " Girl Power" had to prove them...and all the haters wrong.
It's the hardest thing I have ever ever done. But fantastically the best .
Stay with it. Stay close to here.....
And watch out my friends over the pond...next year I'm coming to see you ...be afraid...be very afraid. !!!

It's mind boggling isn't it to think back to the way life was, day in, day out and to see how much better day to day is now.
