I'm ok, Croutie. Still trying to fully wake up and get moving this morning. Coffee might help but that would involve me standing up to go make some.

As always, still learning a lot about myself and sobriety, and how a drink or two to get me through a tough day, turned into the hugest problem in my life. So if my partner pisses me off, I can't have a drink or two (not that I even remotely want to), but just that knowledge that that is exactly how I must have escalated some parts of my drinking in my past by using it as a coping mechanism to relationship conflict avoidance, has been an eye opener.

Because I've been busy, then juggling quality time, I then had to factor in my "me" time, and I saw how drinking had fooled me into thinking it was quality "me" time too.

Snooz. Glad your resolve is strong. Sending you love and hugs moving forward.

I can't catch up on all posts just now, but thinking of you all.
Kudos, Crois, for keeping your thoughts in the right place!!!!

Doing that, for me, is 90% of the battle!!!

I did exactly the same. Drinking was used as a massive prop, too much so and when it's taken away we stumble for a while but in the end we do learn to live without the prop and deal with everything thrown at us.
Good afternoon, Mags!!!!

Crois its nice to see you post. You must br pretty busy these days. Relationships especially new ones are an ongoing learnng process especially when kids are involved. How is that part going ? How do your children get on with your partner and his child?

Im glad youve found love again, we all deserve happiness.

Leshar your brother sounds very much like my oldest brother. A real chauvenist pig .
I dont know how his wife put up with him for 20 years. She finally left but i just dong understand how wonen allow themselves to be treated that way. Id do a runner for sure.

Pj ...i just read your story. Wow its incredible, you have really inspired me to keep strong. I had no idea the adversity you have overcome. Youre a remarkable person that will help many, many people.

I feel i was meant to stumble upon that tonight as im feeling a bit nervous about Mums apt tomorrow and cant sleep.

I logged into SR on my new ipad and would you believe it was the first thing i saw ( insert twighlight music )

I feel for you not seeing your sons, i can identify with that. When you finally reconnect they will see what an amazing person you truly are, minus the alcohol & how much you have to give
When im feeling sorry for myself i will just go back and read that story again. You have a gift for words and writing . It was really powerful and thanks for sharing . Xx

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Much love xxx
Hope that your Mums appt. went well, Snooz, and that you have direction and a course of action in place.

Hello all,
Croissant, it was nice to see you post. It sounds like a busy time for you. Great post. Relationships are hard work, but so worth it, if you have a kind partner. My brother is so unkind to his wife. He makes her grovel. He verbally abuses her, then makes her apologize. She was left by her first husband and I think she doesn't want to be on her own again. I don't know what to make of him. In sobriety, I am more confident of my choices, but it's not worth arguing with him, especially not as I was a guest in his home. But he took no time off work. I had hoped we would go for a hike in the mountains, I got some new hiking boots, but no. He's my family, and I don't want to be estranged. I don't know. He's closer to our sister because she merits attention, given she's a respected professional and she drinks.
Just feeling a bit lonely and out of sorts.

I'm meeting my friend for lunch today, the girl who is having an affair. She emailed me whilst I was away to invite me to an art opening show of hers. I responded cordially and we will meet today. I hope she doesn't push my boundaries. I will try to be kind. She's a good person, just unhappy with an unkind husband. The concept of respect is really important to me. Respect for oneself and for others. I have two tags on my keychain. One says respect and the other patience. Good reminders.

Snoozy, lovely post. I am so glad you have regrouped. Thinking of you.

Lulu, I was thinking about you yesterday. How are you?

Love to all.

Thanks, Leigh.
Her art is hanging for a month in the restaurant that we are going to meet at.
Nervous about seeing my friend, I hope it goes ok.

Leshar, enjoy your lunch sweetheart. Dont go with any preconceived thoughts and just take it for what it is. A lovely lunch with a girlfriend.

Sometimes we overthink too much anout things instead of taking the joy from it.

Love , your food, love your company,as she will yours and push those thoughts of how she lives her life to the back of your mind

Have a lovely time sweetie. Xx

Ps i was also wondering about our dear Lulu.

Have a lovely day / evening everyone.

How is your wife travelling Bob xx
