Just got the sad news that a friend of mine passed away at the age of 59. He was a fellow music lover/chart fanatic with a vast knowledge of radio and record collecting. We never met in person, but we had many great exchanges on public message boards and thru private e-mails. He suffered a stroke this past January and passed away peacefully at home last night. Just another reminder to enjoy our friends and family while we can.

Congratulations to all my sober twins on racking up another sober month.
The fire in London is horrendous, they still don't know what caused it, but the death toll is now at 12 but with many still unaccounted for. Awful .

Gorgeous weather here today - a quintessential northeast on the ocean day - yay.
So horrible to hear about the London fire.
I feel sad about all of the vitriol we hear these days and all of the political polarization. I remember when the dream was that we would have one world, without hate and discrimination of any kind. We seem to be a very long way from that.

Mrs Terrific wants to walk to town with me this morning. She started some white blood cell boosting injections yesterday. Hopefully there will be no more sepsis.
The fire in London appears to have been aggravated by penny pinching policies.

2300 Friday. Busy day- battling faceless govt dept. (they make it so EVERYTHING has to be done on line. Until it does not work and freezes-then they send you an email- but cannot access because their coding does not work. So have to change password. Then have to call them on phone to have the frozen stuff unfrozen and after waiting on hold for an hour- they disconnect you-all before 0900- because of time differences).
Then quite a d & m meeting at lunch time. One lady- very crazy and okay in small doses- respect her heaps, but draining, told about how her daughter suicided 3 years ago - hanged herself. Very unusual for females. I would be crazy too. That is definitely one story that is worse than mine.
Then shopping and cooking and art and more cooking (do 2 weeks worth of meals in 1 weekend).
