Thanks Dee !

Had a chance to visit my mom between some follow up Dr. appts today,....and turns out I was worried about nothing once I talked to the Trauma DR.
Was secretly worried those pain pills were surely give me a heart attack,....since they seemed to take the edge off the pain from the broken ribs , but the numb achiness I would feel several hours later was because the tissue on both lungs are deeply bruised both front and back ( something I never heard about )

I have not been taking any pain pills until it was almost unbearable, because of that unfounded fear .

And the surgeon who put the four titanium plates repositioning my facial bones seemed happy with the healing process so far .

So, all in all a pretty positive day !!

Was up at 2am Freein, and decided to buzz my hair to 1/8" around 3 am ,....something I usually do once the weather warms up every year, but it'll be below freezing tonight ,...
Gathered plenty wood on the front porch just an hour ago, ....sitting here in a wool cap now with a fresh hot fire going already.

Hope everyone is easing into a fabulous weekend !

Top- I get the hating pain relief. I do not take anything- even nurofen for migrains. The pain is real and goes- chemical is something I can do without.

I've often wondered what I'd look like with a completely shaved head - I like the simplicity of it, but I've never had the courage to go all in. I think half the attraction to the Buddhist way of life for me is the hair (or lack of)......that sounds a bit shallow doesn't it?

Mariah, whatever is going on, I hope you see a light at the end of the tunnel - there definitely is one, it's not far away. Sometimes there's a corner in the tunnel which means we can't see the light. Once you're round that corner, you'll be out in the sunshine again

It's a cheap easy thing for me ,...... since I ain't gonna be winning any beauty contest , ...

Was able to do some stretching in the hot tub at the resort this chilly sunny morning for the first time in four weeks ,
... it worked wonders .

Seriously considering heading up to Tenn. today, or tomorrow .

Tops, are you back driving already? That's great. Have a good trip to Tenn. Hope all's well with the family.

I'm having an early night with Eckhart on my kindle, much better than the tv.

Almost the end of another week, hope everyone's doing well
Obo, how's things?

Sleep well Tops.
I've been looking deeply into the Dr Michael Greger "daily dozen". I love the fact that it's all evidenced based whole foods. Also it's totally plant based, so fits well with my current kitchen antics. I just can't seem to persuade OH of the benefits though, which is a bit of a nuisance. It means I have to prepare 2 desperate meals most nights. I just can't understand why everyone else persists in having their own preferences, when clearly it would be simpler to follow my path (I'm beginning to think that I'm the oddball.......nah, surely not!)

Managed to clear the greenhouse out today - looking good for the veggy season.

I'm in for the Bargain!

I've just realised I made a Freudian slip in my post this evening. When I read it back I had to smile because - "desperate meals" is actually a more factual description than the "separate meals" I'd intended. Our meals generally are a bit desperate I'm afraid

Was thinking initially it was a liberal serving of poetic freedom ,

......with a generous side of funny !

Freudian indeed ,....

Dee, what's the cartoon, I don't recognise it, perhaps it's well known to the southern hemisphere folks? - (I can't help feeling sorry for the poor fellow in blue, but I'm guessing he's a bady?)

Have a great weekend all.

Now it's too big but I like it

I think I had a generic link before - it was showing every new upload on the picsharing site.

I thought that the cartoon wasn't at all in line with your usual peaceful, humanitarian style! Lol

I'm painting book shelves today - how did I end up with so many? This is a great incentive to declutter some of these books. In fact redecorating is a great incentive to sell the house and downsize to a cave. I could tolerate freshening up a few drawings of the odd mammoth or sabre- toothed tiger every few years. Not sure how I'd cope with the constant dripping from the stalactites though . That might be a bit annoying when you're trying to sleep.
Perhaps I should stop dreaming and just get on with it - can you tell I'm procrastinating?

What a productive stretch you're in Freein !

Paintin' Fool for days now .

Going to miss tinkering around with the wood burning fires as this last cool weather moves on in a few days .

It's become surprisingly meditative to collect kindling because in the past there was no use for the hundreds ( thousands ? ) .....of fallen dead sticks through the year.

About to head over to Georgia to check on my Dad,.....my niece told me last night on the phone he's not doing well .
