I'm in for the Bargain too.

Mariah, you can do this! We're all moving forward together like an army of peaceful, sober warriors.

It's time to enjoy the journey, one courageous step at a time. The result will look after itself, we just need to commit to the next step, then the next, then the next....

So, I have been smoking weed for pain relief for arthritis....it does help but is a trigger for drinking & on & on it goes, so I'm taking that off the table too. Hate the way it makes me feel anyway.

Just want to be normal for Godsake.......chilling with the cat watching flea market flip.

I hope you can find other less triggery treatments to help with your arthritis Mariah.

Mariah, have you looked in to dietary changes to help arthritis? There's some evidence on nutritionfacts.org which might be of interest to you.

I've woken up to a sunny Saturday, there's no excuse - I'll be tidying up the garden today. I want to make the most of the weekend as I'm back to work next week. My mind is playing up as work gets closer, I need to control this unhelpful stinking thinking!

Have a great sober weekend everyone.

Common in Australia now Mariah. Patients with pain issues can legally take Marijuana as a treatment.
But if it leads to the drink. Then no i guess.

Bloody drink. Ruins everything.

Was just out driving in the bush with wife and baby. Saturday afternoon type of thing. Thought to myself would love to do this drunk......mmm
Drink. Always ready to mess up your life.

Get into it freein. The garden will tame that stinking thinking ...

Footy and left over pasta..... what a man...

I'll be around...

It really is possible to move on from the drink and drugs.

In about 10 days I'll have ten years.

When I remember the guy who literally could not go 3 days without a drink or a puff, thats a deadset no holds barred miracle.

I'm not saying this for glory or back slaps.

I'm saying it to show that change, real change is possible, if you've got the heart to see it through - and I reckon you guys have

Thanks Dee

Yes Free, I think nutrition is the best Ave......i.e. I bought bags of kale & other goodies & will be juicing. Of course slamming my body with alcohol, which is how I drink is not helping one bit.

Lovely to snuggle back into bed with a good cup of Joe this am & entertained by the animals. The bunny that bounced into my life back in February has managed to steal my heart. He just loves me & the cat is finally warming up to him & starting to play together......pretty sweet. The cat was acting crazy last night after bunny went back in his cage......it was when she flew up one side of my bed, across me & off the other side that I realized she acting like a bunny too....oh brother

Dee, that's just wonderful! 10 years of freedom, and many, many more to come.
It's so inspiring

Mariah, your furry friends sound so cute. As I fed the fish today, I saw 3 tiny babies - they're obviously loving their new home. It makes me feel quite proud that they've been born in to a lovely big pond, rather than the small one we had before. It's like they've been liberated.

The natural world is full of wonder.

Nice Obo! These first few days, weeks are tough. How I forget. I'm winding down here Saturday Evening.....kept busy today, visit to Moms, completed my first Bob Ross painting.....it gives me hope I might have some artistic talent after all.
Reworked a flower bed......dinner now & going to find a good movie.

Hope your doing OK Tops.....felt ridiculous complaint about arthritis when you are going through what you are.....sober.

What's up Up?

I'm not good at maths - whatever 6th April is LOL

Thanks so much for the kind words.

I was a very weak guy when I started this - quite pathetic really - but I rediscovered my steel.

Just sharing that if I could do it, anyone can

Do you have a custom to mark your soberversities in any way Dee?

Great work Obo and Mariah. Keep keeping on. Just remember- your best is yet to come. Just get these first few weeks over with, and you'll feel so much more in control.

It's mother's day here in the UK today. I've bought a brightly coloured helium balloon to attach to mums bed in the home, and I'll pick some daffodils to put in her vase. It's so strange how her possessions now consist of the bare essentials. She used to love collecting things, ornaments of various kinds, so much so that the house really wasn't big enough for all of her and dad's "stuff". Now she has very little around her, and she seems so peaceful and content.
I look around at my "stuff" and wonder whether any of it really adds much to my life, or whether it actually just clutters my life up.

There's a lot to be said for living lightly.

Hope everyone's doing well.
Tops, hope each day your body feels a bit better <3

.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone !

Learning more and more just how critical and grateful I am to have some foundation in my sobriety during this unscheduled period of slow physical healing .
