Still alive and well here and feeling good. Boy do I have some stories to tell about stepdaughter but maybe later. It's getting late (for me) and getting up about 4 am to go fishing.
Hope everyone is doing well! We all need to post more! Great job BBB, you have the right attitude!

Still hanging in there! Day 124. Baby is keeping me EXTRA, EXTRA busy !! No way could I handle this drinking. Had to call ambulance last week for baby - stayed overnight for observation. Thought about how I might have missed the urgency if I had been drinking or that the rescue/police would have noted I was drinking. So glad I wasn't passed out during the emergency & woke up to.......???? Don't even want to think about it!!!

Off to the doctors again!!

Hello Decemberites
Still sober, 145 days now.
I'm still a non smoker too.

I get serious cigarette cravings that are way harder to deal with than alcohol.
I rarely think about drinking anymore but I'm still obsessed with cigarette.
I have dreams almost every week where I've started smoking again.
Boy do I hate these dreams, they put me down sometimes for hours.

The AVRT works for smoking too I know but it's hearing its obsessive voice every hours sometimes that drains my energy.

But I hang in there folks and I refuse to smoke!

Hope everybody is doing fine.
We CAN make it

CK

Hello folks, still going strong here. Quite a lot has happened lately, so im posting to be accountable.

I've started seeing someone, and she seems lovely so far. I'm being careful to take things very slowly and ease myself in, but i'm liking it so far. I also told her I don't drink and she didn't seem to bat an eyelid to be honest. So we will see where this goes

I also picked up a new car today. I traded my little Renault in for something much more sporty. I took it for a spin this evening and I've not stopped grinning yet! It's put the fun back in driving again for sure.

CK - I am indeed . Im really looking forward to some warmer weather soon as well. It's always much more fun on the bike when you aren't being blown all over the place by gale force wind!

Hope all is well with you guys?

BBB, tomorrow is 5 months for us too. We had the same quit date if I remember correctly? Feeling great here and not missing the booze at all. Congrats to all of us still in the game. It really is an accomplishment. Thanks for your support and encouragement.

Congrats on 5 months guys!!!

The 5th was 5 months for me. I still can't really believe i'm doing this. I tried so many times and fell, I guess because deep down I wasn't ready to give up drinking.

Strangely enough... I spent the evening of my 5th month anniversary in the pub! I still go every now and then with some friends, and their drinking really doesn't make me miss it at all! They know I don't drink and don't bother me about it, so it's not terribly difficult. I would much rather go than stay in on my own with the possibility of feeling sorry for myself!

Keep going guys, we are doing this!!!!!

Our thread has fizzled but a few of us are still kicking. Just checking in. Working around the house as usual (and working at work), seems all we do is work but it is satisfying and for us beats setting around. I mostly just post a quick daily in the 24 hour thread (and check here for posts).
Don't hardly even think of taking a drink anymore and am enjoying my life sober. I appreciate the support we all have had here. Best of Luck to you, my friends of the December 2016 class! Our 'next' milestone is the 6 month mark, half of a year! Pat yourselves on the back!

Hello to you my Decemberite friends!

We are like the three musketeers BBB, Quitter and me.
The last men standing on the floor!
I say "men" but I should not forget ChloeRose and Pebbles that are still (theorically) sober December graduates too!

Five months...five persons...five friends

We can make it to our 6 months "half-cake".
Lets do that!

Yes, i do hope some of the other folks check in with us soon.... Whatever has happened, we are still a class and here to support each other .

It's been very quiet at my end. Nothing much to report on. No thoughts of drinking either which has been nice. I'm finding sometimes I can go the entire day without even thinking of booze!

Hi all!

Still hanging on!!!! I've been very busy with the baby. He has reflux so he drinks a lot, pukes, wants more, pukes (sound familiar?)......LOTS of laundry for both of us! He has other issues too so lots of in home professional visits & lots of doctors appointments. Also dealing with social services & lawyers....ughhhh Still trying to get my other grandson. Busy, busy.

Everytime I hop on my laptop...Whaaaaa !!

But back to business here. Weather is getting nicer...had a few thoughts of drinking the other day after a long, long day topped off with a verbal altercation with my daughter. Just wanted to RELAX for awhile but I thought about where that would lead & tried to work in my garden to relax but baby was having none of that. So I have neglected garden but lots of perennials filling in so it doesn't look that bad.

I'm rather tired & try to sleep when the baby is....he is getting a little better sleeping at night. But a full night sleep would be great! He didn't ask for all this & I'm the only one he has right now so I can't let him or myself down!

Yay made it to 5 months! I quickly read through the last page - glad to see a few still here!!!

Congrats for your 5 months Pebbles!
You look busy as a bee, no time for cravings is the reward I guess...

In the last stretch to get my half-cake and this one means a lot for me for reasons I don't know.
Half a year IS a lot I think!

I hope you're OK Quitter, no news = good news!
You never told us how the story ended with your step daughter, I hope everything went fine (I have doubts here...)

We can make it Decemberites!
