My ex husband actually. He rang me and said no one is drinking, it's a good night, perhaps pop over for an hour because Katie would love it.

So I did ! We had pizzas , coke , iced coffee , it was lovely Crois xx

Thanks guys

Think I'll get stuck into some more cleanup outside today. Have been really busy chopping, pruning, raking, weeding , whippersnipping, shovelling, digging etc and I'm really achey today.

But the yards looking a lot nicer. Of course Shaun just played on his game with his new headset he bought , so he can talk to strangers all over the world now & totally check out from reality.

The jobs have gotten so big that I can't do it on my own. I got a guy in to help me & Shaun's gonna pay for it whether he likes it or not!

He was so pissed off, he got off his game and took himself off to watch a movie & left us to it ! Nice .....

When he finally came home 5 hours later Aaron & I were still working.
Who does that? Does he have no shame! .. back to his game he went.

I'm over it...again lol...I must sound like a broken record

Got home from the party , never even asked me if I had a good time. Hasn't even asked me how Angie is or how my day with her went on Friday!!!

I got up at 3 am picked up the PlayStation , the headset and the controllers and threw them in the bin!

No doubt they will be retrieved , but I felt better. I slept on the couch .

Enough whining from me , but I do feel better lol , even though I'm pretty sure he's my trigger these days, maybe has been for a long time

Hope everyone is having a good day/evening.

Love you all xx

Love to hear from Njkitty, Casey , Ncg & wolfy, Lulu & Pete xxxx

I'm sorry, Snooz.

It reminds me of a time when I was young and living with my parents and had locked myself out at 11pm. I rang and rang the doorbell. Finally my grumpy mom was roused from her sound sleep, stumbled down the stairs, and let me in.

Apparently my dad was supposed to wait up for me.

When we found him, he was sound asleep on the couch snoring with basketball on TV and a baseball game in his earphone!

My mom was disgusted:"What, are you gonna have one up your nose, yet!"

I still think you should talk to him about it Wendy.
the endless gaming sounds like it's a replacement for something.

Agree with Dee. Whether it was chicken or egg that came first, I.e., did he originally start gaming to escape your drinking, or are you both struggling with addictions? His being a bit more socially acceptable to hide?

Either way, it's bugging you and distracting you when you should be focused on getting yourself right first. He can't fix your alcoholism and you can't fix his gaming addiction. Has the word addiction come up when discussing this?

It's obviously a big hairy elephant In the room.

Had to share.....an addiction specialist (and former addict) was just on tv.
Love what she quoted;
"Adddiction isn't my fault, but recovery is my responsibility"

So very true.

I totally agree Crois.

Wendy, how are you doing? Did you get around to reading that book Cois suggested a few weeks back?

Making Couples Happy by John Aiken

Thanks for your input guys

Shaun's first wife left him after 7 years. He had a dare I say it " porn addiction"
He used to stay out all day on his days off playing a game called magic! Where people gather and play each other.

That's fine in moderation as I've done it with real life scrabble tournaments. But they only last for about 3 hours.

But he started lying to her , disconnecting and she had had enough of her son walking in when he was watching porn.

She ended up getting a boyfriend and Shaun stayed in the back room of their house !!! As she moved the boyfriend into the bedroom.

At the same time, I agree that I must have been very hard to live with. But he would supply me with wine knowing he could be left alone to play his games in peace.

I really loved being around other people at the party the other night and actually having someone interested in what you have to say.

But I still have a lot of work to do. We are total opposites. If he had his choice he would NEVER leave the house. He won't even come to Angies with me for lunch .

Anyhow, enough whining from me , I'm here with my 4 cats and 2 dogs so I really shouldn't complain lol xx

Personal or not, Snooz, I 'm glad you got it off your chest.

Often just voicing things helps.

no reason to delete it Snooz

It's one of the things about recovery - when we find out who we are, then we kinda turn to the world around us and our place in it...

If somethings making you unhappy you have a right to talk about it - here or with Shaun.
