I shall rephrase......Having reached the age of fifty I had not previously dined on creamed spinach.

Good morning gang and happy Thursday!

Gym time....

Hi gang and happy Friday.

Little one is at a sleepover and oldest daughter is babysitting. My wife and I will be leaving shortly to meet another couple for dinner at a place called Half Shell. I'm looking forward to it because it's my no-guilt cheat meal! The others will drink and I do notice that a little. Unlike some of you I'm rarely around alcohol anymore so I'm not very desensitized to seeing that cold bottle across the table from me. But, should still be fun. I'm famished at the moment and that's probably why I'm thinking about it a bit. Should be all good once I get some food in my rumbly tummy.

Enjoy the night out, Mark.

Wife and I got a chance to sneak away last night. Dinner and a movie. I had the half chicken and some empanadas to start at this Spanish restaurant in the city. Wife had a few drinks and me some Pellegrino. Hit the spot to say the least! Felt like a million bucks today.

Sounds good Arbor, both the food and the fact that you and Mrs Arbor had a date night. My spouse and I lost that along the way somehow.

Tonight was grilled redfish topped with a good sauce, shrimp, and lump crab meat. The Caesar salad had plenty of delicious croutons and the two sides were great as well. My drink was club soda with lime. As usual I was too full for dessert.....darn it.

I'm already looking forward to tomorrow morning's cuppa and feeling great. Oh that reminds me, somehow the heat got turned up last night and I woke up sweating around 2am. Boy did that bring back unpleasant memories! Don't miss that at all!

How awesome that you and your wife were able to do dinner and a movie Arbor.
Makes me happy.

And your night sounds lovely too Mark.
And I would be full after all of that as well.

As for me, I have a wonderful new job. Writing, as I mentioned. Just so happy.
And Nick and I now have a gorgeous bed, and a divine couch. Happy happy sigh.

Worried about our darling Leigh ~ hope you are able to get some relief honey.
I read what you said in the 24-hour thread, and I was wondering if a physiotherapist might be able to help ease your neck pain. Just a thought.

So much love guys. ♥

Uh oh, I guess I'd missed that Leigh isn't feeling well.

Suze, that's great on the writing....what's your genre?

The yawns have started, close to bedtime for this guy.

Not one particular genre Mark, looks like I may have a few different writing jobs.
And it's time to get back to my poetry ~ it has been many years since I indulged that passion. I silenced that voice inside of me with drugs and alcohol. But it never went away. Now, I have a wonderful space to write ~ an attic office (well, it will be soon) and the most beautiful comfy chair where I can sit and swivel and look at the sky.

That's great, Suze! I'd love to read your work sometime.

So much to say... Congrats on all of the milestones, from sobriety to creamed spinach!

The flu has hit our house and I'm just happy to have made it through the work week, was asleep by 7:00 last night! And now I'm a bit bummed because I'm missing a ladies spa day at our church. It's been awhile since I've had some girl time. Oh well. Maybe I can turn the bedroom into a spa, do my nails while I hang out with the remote control all day. The boys will be on their own today, fishing most likely. Thank goodness for a couple of days to rest!
Huge germ-free hugs to each of you!!!

I have the flu too Conquest....I haven't been sure what type of flu exactly.....or what type of virus. Just horrible. Like a mixture of the flu and gastro. On the other hand, I have lost every extra pound I put on since I got back here.

Hope you and your boys are getting better love. Now, what colour are your nails going to be? (This coming from someone who is allergic to nail polish and remover, and will never do a spa day in her life ).

So happy to see you today ~ we really missed you.

Happy Sunday all.

I don't think I've ever had the flu. It sounds bad. I have had neck/shoulder problems though that involved the trapezius, Leigh. Have you considered a therapeutic massage? I've not had one professionally done, but my wife has helped me with it before. Was one of those 'hurts so good' things in that I asked her to really work firmly and it was uncomfortable but felt better afterwards.

A sunny 81 predicted today and tomorrow with the coolest temp in the 10 day being a low of 46 one night later this week. I'll likely be mowing the lawn by first week of March. Unusual for sure but will make the most of it. No school tomorrow so got the pool heater humming by request and for now will sun a bit and drink coffee......does that go together?! I shall try it and see.....

Sounds fantastic, Mark! It is very spring-like here also...had a neighbor kid mow for us yesterday. It's the start of some big time cleanup in the yard. But first, I've gotta get better! I sat outside for a bit and am back in bed. Sleeping a lot is getting me through this crud. Luckily, the boys seem just fine, leaving in a bit to see the Lego Batman movie (no thanks, lol). That means nap time for me!
I hope you're all having a beautiful Sunday!

Breathing.....

Trying to calm down after a bad start to the day.
My poor tummy can't take much more of this.

Everything will be OK in the end, right?
Ah ha....

Love to everyone.
