One Year & Over Part 29
Itchy - I'm sorry for your loss - and inspired by your example of staying cool under mounting pressure. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us while you've got so much going on.
IP - I am appalled at how inconsiderate your date was! Ridiculous!
FBL - It's great that you and your brother are able to approach your mom's demands rationally, and be fair to each other. I like that a lot.
Drake - Great job on the weight loss!
Carlos - Glad you're enjoying the freedom this way of life brings!
My kids went back to school yesterday. It's Mommy New Year, a chance to reorganize and start fresh. My oldest needs significant support staying organized, and I am incredibly grateful that I've been able to provide the support and structure he needs - even though I'm busy, even though I'm working, even though I'd rather be relaxing. I'm able to do what I'm supposed to be doing - and have peace and joy in my heart while doing it. All because I'm sober!
Keep on keeping on living the good life Toots, Mags, OLL, Saskia, Gilmer, Dee, SW, and showing us how you do it!

Thanks guys, Dee you nailed it. She left us a month ago. Just the metabolism was left.
The house is here and almost done.
Wolf,
It's really just what it takes to bring a construction project to completion. My wife and I were/are both contractors respectively. It is just a pain to have others as the contractors.
Carlos,
Hey bud!
Glee,
Good on ya! Your kids are lucky to have you! I think all of us sober have special ways we can relate to the struggle of kids to find their place and way in life, just like us.
Gil,
Don't worry and thanks. Life is good. Time moves on, and so shall we.

Itch, condolences to you and your family on the loss of your MIL. Hope things go smoothly with your FIL from now on. Best of luck on the rest of the construction.
Have a great Friday, all!

Hi everyone
Sorry for your loss Itchy
You will get there SW!!
Been a few days since I popped in again - changing over some long standing medication just now and it's been a bit rough going - hopefully be done in a few days!
OK, time to get off my butt and do some things - bye for now!!

Oh man those look so comfy SW. I want a pair! My shoes are all ridiculous, old, falling apart. I need to really update my shoe selection. My favourite boots literally fell apart yesterday.
Itchy, you are handling everything you are going through with grace and the intelligence experience brings. I hope to get there one day. For me I still deal with daily "catastrophes" that have me battling the urge to run for the hills.
Saw the doctor yesterday, I think I might start CBT training with a counsellor.
Oh I have to go to work now.
One more solo paper to go. Then the new reporter gets here. I really really hope she is competent.
I baked healthy spelt muffins this morning before work! Ambitious.

I have a whole bag of spelt flour that I intended to bake with--and it's been sitting on the shelf for three years! The only reason I haven't thrown it away yet is because I'd forgotten all about it till now!
FG, I hope you're back up to speed soon!

Hey Overs,
Itch Man - My best to your family. How is your wife taking her loss?
Glee, my guess is that first day of school is quite different from active addiction times. You sound at peace. ...kudos.
IP, no probs, you spelt "muffins" correctly. Sorry, have no idea what spelt is? Wonder if they are W-30 compliant? Calling LDT...
FG, my best in the med sorting.
Right back at you on the shout out, FBL.
My best as you sort parent care out. That was by far the most challenging task in my life. My Dad had Alzheimer's for 12 years and I visited far too often for my own mental health. Returning home was always a good reason to get drunk in my active addiction...or so I thought.
Happy weekend ALL.
Carlos

Not a long walk but the difference can be felt instantly I knew I wouldn't have to plaster my blisters it was a tad painful but I know once my blisters heal fully in my new trainers walking will be a lot more comfortable
