Happy Monday everyone--busy day ahead.

FBL-yes I am starting to see that, that accepting myself is the key. It's funny that as you learn to accept yourself you start to see how sort of blinded you were before. I was anyway. The world seems brighter or easier somehow when I remove these expectations I had for myself and the need to please and be liked. I'm starting to enjoy being in my own skin for the first time. It's tough though!

LB and Mags--congrats!!!!

Morning Overs

Congratulations on your 16 months, LBrain. Brilliant .

Thinking of you Drake.

Thanks for the congrats, time is flying by so quickly, the time lapsing between me and drinking is becoming a distant past, but I get the odd dream, twinge and I have the tools to deal with it, thanks to you guys.x

It's a foggy start here but I feel the sun is just beyond.
Have a good Tuesday.

I have been having lots of drinking dreams lately, they haven't bothered me so much when I wake as they once used to, I just wonder why I seem to be having so many!

Mags, congratulations sweetie, I found that during the second year, sobriety really bedded is as a way of life for me.

IP , FBL said it perfectly. And unless you can truly love yourself how can you expect to attract someone worthy of you? So focus on being the best person you can be and they will trip over you someday.

Zip

Andy I really need to get some digging done today. Which is why I am here writing posts!

Hey Gilmer how's your dad doing?

Wolfie how are you is the buzz cut growing out yet?

LBrain, congrats on coming up 16 months that is fantastic

Drake, sorry to hear you have been dos just in the dumps, but glad you are getting help straightening out your mess. Maybe it is part of a natural anti climax after all the build up to the Easter choral events.

I am annoyed at myself I have put some weight back on, not much but it is the wrong direction. I worked so hard to lose it, and am still running most days, I need to just curb the rubbish I eat. I really don't want to get heavy again. Normally this time of year I lose a little weight anyway, but so far this year....

I was confused as to why a word I wrote was asterisked out, I guess it may have racist connotations on its own??? The phrase 'hon(with a ky ending) dory' means fine, doing ok. Not sure why the first word is deemed offensive? Perhaps someone can enlighten me so I don't upset anyone!
Happy Tuesday everyone

Toots, I believe the actual term you were thinking of is "hunky-dory". Anyway, the other word (hon with a ky at the end) was a popular slang term during the 1970s, mainly used as a derogatory term by one race against another (ex: George Jefferson used it several times against Archie Bunker).

Hope you all have a hunky-dory Tuesday!

My dad got mad at me Saturday, Toots. He is very frustrated at losing his autonomy, and he doesn't believe that he ever gets confused. We did clear the air about some things, and things have been better between us.

IP,
Rooting for you.

Toots, me too. But I'm not running every day.

FBL you posted before I could re "Hunky"

Drake?

Gil,
We just had a stunning recovery from the precipice of my MIL who would have died and is now growing stronger daily. However the FIL is in complete denial that he is unable to do simple seeming discrimination requiring some focus. Like going through the mail. He is afraid to throw out any junk mail because he can't tell which is which. So a pile develops. My SH has spent days there when her mom was going downhill rapidly. She pretty much took over their accounts because her dad never got to the bills. He can't distinguish important from junk mail. Or pay bills. And after a successful life he forgot how to balance his checkbook. Sad. Shivery much in your position but with her mom now helping him cope again. Caretakers have a tough row to hoe.

Mags,
Luv reading your cheers and tears dear!

Hi Andy!

Wolf,
Glad your hair is also falling into line. I have to go for a follow-up from yesterday's hearing tests with my ENT guy. It looks like it will keep improving when the tube drops out. You are hearing at least some. I had nothing, no hearing at all, all through the first couple of months fighting it. I'd hate to have to wait so long to be seen and taken care of.

I have two dark spots about two inches and one about half that on my full head of silver. In five year's time I'll be a Q-tip. They call us that who get gray and run around in white sneaks. White tops and bottoms. I wear white and blue NBs, but with ties.

Hey RZ!
Still keeping the beat?

LBrain,
Congrats on 16 months.

Here? It is still raining. It is still muddy. Mud where we never had mud. House still on hold. Surgery still on hold. Climate change kicking my axe! Everything is on hold. I hate waiting. A week of sun would go a looooong way to at least be able to cut the knee high hayfield my front yard is growing into. It's like a rice paddy in part of it! The sun WA out yesterday then it rained. Came out for a tease this morning then rained.

Did I mention it's raining?
