Just getting back from a few days away for thanksgiving. No temptation to drink. But there was one moment where all the women in my family were sitting together talking and my sister offered everyone wine. I was the only one who declined. It felt odd for a moment being the only one not drinking. But then I felt empowered and proud. They all only had one glass, one glass would be disastrous for me. I was very grateful for my sobriety yesterday.

Hi all,
10:13 and I'm here again to ask for and commit to 24 hours of sobriety. After taking a brief hiatus from SR because I was continually tempted and tried again to moderate, I am back and commited to living a sober life, a day at the time. Moderation is a pipe dream and one that I have finally given up. So I'm on day 3, and happy about it.

Welcome back, Salgal!
1981 was the year I got kicked out of Cornell Univeristy because they were afraid I was going to commit suicide.
I'm committing to another 24 hours also--7:35 PM on Orcas Island.

Congrats to all celebrants today, and I'll have another 24 in Maryland.
V, I don't ride a bike anymore, but I do walk at the mall, and have coffee with old friends.
Balance is extremely important for unbalanced people like us. Keep it simple.
