24-Hour Recovery Connections Part 17
Courage2, you inspired me to read about the goddesses Ceres and Pomona. Their statues were on either side of the entrance to the Agricultural Engineering building at Cornell University. I thought they were the goddesses of wheat and wine; but Ceres rules agriculture more generally and Pomona is specifically the Roman goddess of orchards or "fruitful abundance."

Grtgrandpa: I'm sorry for your loss, but it sounds like you were fortunate to have had such a good friend. Take care.
10:05 here in the Pacific Northwest and I'm just thrilled to be sober and looking forward to the next 24 hours.

I never had the opportunity to meet Sandy B, but his messages about the program have brought me huge relief and were instrumental in guiding my 11th Step practices. I am going to deeply miss him.
Checking in for another sober 24, dedicated to the gratitude I and many others have for Sandy B...
And for those in need of a boost, listen to his famous talk, "Drop The Rock!" from 1972.

I got drunk we stay sober
And so Sandy is here when we are here every day dropping the rocks of guilt and shame that are a part of our illness/ism.
Pain is the price I pay for the love I receive in recovery every day.
The pain is worth the price to be one of all of you. I am not like normal people, so I will have another 24 today.
Congrats to today's celebrants, and thank you all for your kind words re our loss.
