Here for another 24. Haven't been sleeping very well and it's taking a toll. I hope tonight is a better night.

Sorry I missed your date, Courage. I'll have to check my list and make sure I have the right date. Congratulations on 7 months!

Way to go VeryReady and Courage! Very inspiring.

And thank you, HeartsAfire! I'm looking forward to getting much needed structure (and money!) back into my life.

It's 11:50 am and I'm signing in for another 24 sober hours from sunny San Francisco!

Another 24 please.

I had never thought of having a recovery animal but I like the idea, and after reading about the turtle I think I will make this wonderful creature mine.

Thanks,
calico

It's Welsh Rarebit Day. Points if you know what it is, more points if you've had it.

Do you have a totem animal or familiar spirit? The deer is an interesting spirit animal. In the words of one member, “How sweet and gentle. I can kick you into next week with those tiny hooves, jus' sayin'.” The deer is both determined, graceful, intuitive, and adaptive. Those with a special connection with this animal have “the ability to be vigilant, move quickly, and trust their instincts to get out the trickiest situations” (Deer Spirit Animal | Deer Totem Meaning). The deer reminds me of awareness, inner peace and calm, accompanied by alert attention to one’s environment. From my years living in the Sonoran desert, I’m partial to the mule deer.

In religious rituals of the Yaquis of Sonora (Arizona & Mexico), the deer song and the deer dance are performed especially during Lent and Easter. Through dance, Yaqui rituals try to heal and perfect the multiple worlds of animals, people, flowers and death. The deer dance is “a tribute to the spirit of the deer, the harmony of the forest and the balance between man and nature” (Yaqui - New World Encyclopedia).

Please send me your recovery animal by PM or post about it here. I'll include one of your suggestions with the roster every day this week!
