Thank you so much, kahlia

It's been an absolutely beautiful day here today and we spent most of it walking by the sea. It was just lovely

I hope you are feeling better, petals, and that everyone else has had a great day xxx

Unfortunately kahlia if you keep drinking odds are it's not going to stay at that you beaut level, y'know?

The best thing our addiction can do to keep itself alive is to convince us it's no longer a problem.

Sorry you're struggling petals - how are you doing now?

Congrats on 10 weeks HL - awesome

Thanks for the good thoughts guys. I'm somewhat better today and a worked through it sober...trying to feel positive. ... still getting negative feelings related to drinking and feel so guilty for past issues. ..need to let them go or at least leave me alone! Time to drag myself out of bed.xx

Glad you're feeling better today, petals. Don't underestimate your achievement - working through this sober is fantastic. Ultimately, you have to let go of the past while remembering its lessons. The best way to make amends is to be the best person you can be going forward - and you're doing just that

HI all!

Petals, glad you are feeling better.

Headlump, congrats on 10 weeks. HUGE accomplishment!

Kahlia, good for you on quitting smoking. I know that's very tough to do; experienced it several years ago myself.

Also, sorry you are still drinking, but you have to decide for you when it is time. Each time I decided I could "moderate" I ended up worse off than the time before. I finally started keeping a calendar of my drinking days v/s my non-drinking days. After relapsing in June it only took me a few days before I reverted back to daily drinking. I didn't keep track of how many drinks I had each day because I knew once I had the first one I wouldn't stop until I went to sleep at night.

Keeping a calendar really helped me realize that even through my AV was saying it's ok to drink, it really wasn't ok. I now look back at all of the days I spent drinking, all of the memories lost and money down the drain! I was back to drinking ALL of the time and although functional, drunk all of the time. Best of luck with fighting this. You can do it if you want to.

Hope everyone else had a great weekend and good beginning to the week.

Stay strong Julyers

I am doing really well sorry I haven't been around so much I've been trying to stay busy I got a lot of new routines I've been doing to keep out of bad habits. I've been working at the library on my time off doing some new stuff at work and enjoying the great outdoors.
I wish everyone well.

Hello Julyers! Hope everyone is doing well.

I have been in a bit of a - can't even call it funk. It's no secret I have been depressed since coming off the opiates - they made life "bearable" but these past couple of weeks have been awful. Very dark thoughts, hatred of people and myself. Did not want to talk to anyone....it was odd. Finally realized these changes coincided with the last change of hormone meds....have been working with the doctor to find the right combination and obviously this last one was not it! Have been back on the last batch for about a week now and I am starting to feel human again. Back to just the run of the mill every day depression anyway More on that later.

HL - glad you are doing so well! You too Mr.F - brought a smile to my face to see your post! Petals, I feel I can relate to you so much, we seem to be in similar places - but I do hope you are doing well. CCam - always an inspiration!

Kahlia hun, hope you are doing ok and didn't fall in to a full blown relapse. I too so wish I could moderate - treat my pain. But I don't think I could. Please check in and let us know how you are doing when you can. You have so much going for you, I just want nothing but the best for you!

Beautiful day here, so am going to bring the cats outside and try to set up my tablet. Babies first tablet! I am so bad with technology (even though I work in IT - go figure) - I don't have a smartphone, mp3 player, pad, tablet - nothing! So I hit 20 years at my company this year (my word) and got to pick a gift - so I got an android tablet. Now let's see if I can get it to work lol.

Talk soon, miss you all!

They say you cannot teach an old dog new tricks but I have become to believe that is the key for sobriety
