Holding high the bar--
Many people come and go.
This is where I'll stay!

Though I'm not limber,
I can limbo with my mind!
Not too good for low!

not quite mean and quite funny
but only half true

When I smell muffins,
I think, "Breakfast! Yum, yum, yum!"
All else fades to black!

Someone just praised me,
said I'm on a higher plane!
Edit that last poem...

You should hear my house!
Husband is the king of it!
Never hear the end!

I am quick to scowl--
Can't be associated!
Inside I crack up!

Cool dewy morning
Makes it hard to remember
Night's smothering heat

Slow to rise today
Tired from yesterday's heat
Was a grown up though

Drove the kids to swim
Even though I hate to drive
When I'm feeling blah

Propellor arms move
Feet kicking water about
Faster every day

I'm proud of the kids
I'm also proud of myself
Out of comfort zone

Doing something new
Scared of the unfamiliar
Allowing success

In a brand new place
Doing new things with new friends
Intimidating

Being scared is new
For me to purposely do
Results are so sweet

Not just for the kids
Who are swimming lightning fast
But also for me

*****

Thanks for listening
I lack rhythm and lyrics
But find comfort here.

Please finish the job
I am so bored, stuck at home
Keeping an eye out

If I had a loo
In the basement, I could lock
the main house and leave

But they have to pee
Occasionally, so I stay
The bathroom matron

For a group of men
Toiling in the summer heat
In and out all day

Inspiration rears
Loving life, it has rewards
Baking bread today

Crusty, sweet smelling
Adding in dried blueberries
Love what's on my plate

I'm a ***** today
I can't stand what's on my plate!
Got to suck it up!

Nothing I can do.
Usually I survive just fine!
I will rise again.

Do you know anyone
Who eats a rutabaga?
I don't personally

Is it a root veg
Like a turnip or carrot?
Or starchy potato?

I like all the vegs
Except a slimy okra
Roasted Brussels rule!

Rutabaga's good
Roasted with some brown sugar
It's a root veggie.

Don't get me started.
Fried okra's Ambrosia!
Love its tasty crunch!

There was a debate.
OKRA: Is it Food or Snot?
Food won in the South.
