Welcome all newcomers including myself!

I feel an explanation is owed... I messaged Dee to see if I could join the class of October for a fresh start although I am entering my 7th day sober. I was told of course, in fact start the thread yourself - members themselves used to start the threads... (paraphrasing somewhat)

So here's to the Class of October!

I'm feeling the pressure now

Hi MTN. When I first saw this I did think that Dee would somehow ban you from not just this forum but the internet too.

Hi everybody. I'm happy to be a part of the class of October. I had 100 days under my belt but I had a 30 day slip up and need to get back on track again. Today is day 2. I know this class of October will be awesome!

I'm 'officially' joining this group, though today is Day 3 for me.

Was right on the crux of September-October, so I'll chime in here.

But I guess being here is really about going from being one kind of can guy to another

But its a daunting prospect, but like so many of you here, we just all get to the point where it just can't keep going like this....

Going to blather a bit, hopefully this is the place!

Day 3 today, woke up with a surprising amount of energy and enthusiasm. To be expected I guess? Did the momentary, "Now what did I drink last night?" question, oh yeah! Nothing! Felt good.

Went back to the doctor's this morning, having been for a consult on Friday. Today was for dracula to take some blood. This will show how much further my damage has occurred since last blood test in November.

Energy and enthusiasm have waned somewhat now, head is a bit foggy.

The doctor gave me a referral for a local drug and alcohol counselling service - am trying to work up the nerve to give them a ring. Every time I've tried going sober on my own in the past, I've failed - so I know I will need help this time.

Need to make some other calls too, and just can't find the motivation at the moment.

I've been sober since September 25th and I plan on keeping it that way! I want to join this group. Lets get excited everybody, we can do this!

Gigabit, In the same place exactly as you re the referral….I was seeing a psychologist for grief counselling and she was pushing me in the same direction as is the dr. Coming here is a toe in the water…..but may yet have to jump right in.

Good stuff MTN! Congrats on 7 days-are you feeling any better?

I'm on day 3 and was also holding off posting till today. I thought it would be better,being newly sober, joining the new thread where everyone's at the same stage,more or less.

Felt lousy yesterday but slept some and now up early and off to work later. Feeling better and compare to how awful I felt last Monday and never want to feel that way again.

Love 'Sober October' canguy-it has a good ring to it

I know how you feel uninvited-I had 45 days,felt brilliant and really thought I'd got it this time,then went on hols 6 weeks ago and it;s been downhill since then
