Okay...able to come back fo a minute.

Donna))))

Acting as if...thanks for saying you are practicing this today! It does does work.

But you know..for me, it's not easy getting started. I have to really kick start myself.

Like today...

Special hugs and prayers as you "act as if throughout the day!"

Thanks Nel. I like The way you are putting "I felt upset when you.." That makes sense to me (and makes the other person far less defensive, I imagine). I'll try that...

Hi IO and everyone else...

Does this mean I've used a brownie point or two?

My meeting topic was Principles before Personalities. That seems to be something I keep hearing today. There was a new guy there (not new to program, just this meeting) and after the topic was brought up he shared that he was there today because people at his usual meeting have been getting to him so his sponsor suggested he try a new meeting. LOL, he said perfect topic

"I" have to agree with Nel, Hos, when something or someone is unacceptable to me, I need to point that out. God did not get me sober to become someone's doormat. And the way I go about it is "I am hurt by your actions, words, etc." It seems to catch their interest a little more than when I am blaming them with "you did this or that". They immediately shut down from hearing what I have to say when I accuse.
Here is my favorite thing to read when I am uncomfortable with someone or something.

"And acceptance is the answer to all my problems today. When I am disturbed it is because I find some person, place, thing or situation-some fact of my life-unacceptable to me, and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing, or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment. Nothing, absolutely nothing, happens in God's world by mistake. Unless I accept life completely on life's terms, I cannot be happy. I need to concentrate not so much on what needs to be changed in the world as on what needs to be changed in me and in my attitudes."

My main reason for typing this is for myself to see and read..

Least you sound so much better than you have been

IO I love when you come by and post. You are a special lady. We all have these kind of days, but we are really lucky at these times that we do have a program and we don't have to go it alone. For me Acting as If is such a wonderful tool.

Whoo Hooooooo!

What a share Donna!

I remember when my income had stopped..in between wages and disability...and when I

came out of the store one evening, my car was not in the parking space I had left it

in. I stood there for a moment.."knowing" it most likely had been repossessed by the

bank. And, like a ticker tape in mind, that passage from the BB played behind my

closed eyes. I walked into the store, used their telephone..(I was so broke I didn't even

own a cell then)...and the police verified the repo. I was so calm...

Accepting life on life's terms. I had to le go of the car and file bankruptcy..didn't

want it back either...it wasn't mine to keep. Acceptance (is) still the answer to

(all) my problems today..

Wow, lots of cool posts since I have been here last, Nelco you are very wise.

Drink cool, bubbly water eh, Sher? Yes, what a treat, lol!

The drinking thought didn't last long, was to do with wanting to escape feelings/reality I think. I need to busy right now and couldn't do what I needed to today to be busy. I have had so long in limbo with the not sleeping thing I have to get back into living and doing for my sanity.

Still, I got through it, I am sober and very happy to be so.

Yes, a bit better today, not so anxious. Did my one chore this morning and have been doing nothing the rest of the day. Didn't get a nap but that's ok. I'll go to bed early tonight. Gave the dogs a good walk then put gas in the car. Now just watching Star Trek (tos) and relaxing.

Hope the rest of you are having a good day.

Trying to post a pic of my dogs... we'll see if I do it right... That's my diabetic blind Shiba in front and my old Beagirl in back. Can't believe I did it right!

Io thanks for sharing that story I was in awe of you.

Least the cat already eats dry food . I think I got some stuff in the vets before like the one you are talking about. I will check again. She likes her brand though. One time I switched to a cheaper brand and she would not eat it. you can let me know how you get on with it. It will probably be some time before you notice muah of a change.

Stone how long are you sober now? You seem to be moving forward. I dont think INDIAN is a good idea after what you shared earlier

Stone, I resized it! Nel, I changed my dry cat food from an organic dry food to this Purina One UT health, but the UTI cat ate it and puked it up... so we'll see if he can keep it down and get used to it. I probably should have changed their food gradually but can't since I'm out of their regular organic food. If he/they wo'nt eat it I may have to pay twice as much and get a big bag of the special food from the vet (a different brand).

IO, they ARE my 'babies' in every sense of the word. And it does my heart good to be their mom.

The pictures tell it all Least. Now I understand why you just love snuggling with those beautiful dogs. I don't know if I said it here before but at a meeting one day someone shared that Dogs are God spelled backwards, that's why their love is unconditional. If I did share that already, well you all got it again

Nel that happens sometimes with me too, but not this time I was on Whiners the other day and I couldn't see Fube's avatar (YES AVATAR HOS) but everyone else could see it. I made him nuts, lol thinking it wasn't there. And HOS always says she has a ? for an avatar but nothing shows up under her name on my screen. (Throwing up my hands right now) Who knows why things happen. Just to make us nuts right.

I get the "?" on my friend's list for those who don't have avatars. I think that's what she means.

Yes, I realised that after I ordered it! Oops!

I am only sober about 3 weeks I think but I am doing some good step work with my new sponsor. Oh yea, I didn't mention I had a new sponsor.
