A little present for Fub, I cannot imagine how hummy the city is by now. ![]() I got us a Whiner Tour bus cheap, but it came from Fub's corner car lot and may need a little cleaning up...

The only whine I have about the strike is the amount of media coverage. besides a bit of garbage on the streets I have seen no effects of the strike where I live even in the surounding neighborhood which is all houses. The only problem areas are the ones where temporary dumps have been set up and there are none near me. although I agree that the 6000 garbage men deserve most of what they are asking for the other 24,000 union employees who are mostly paper workers deserve less than they are getting paid already. If the strike goes on until these people realize that working for government is not a free ride and the people that actually put in a full days work for their pay then it will all be worth the slight inconvenience of having to take your garbage to a temporary dump site. With an 80% disapproval rate for the unionized workers I don't see the city politicians being dumb enough to cave to their unreasonable demands. This time out the citizens are pitching in to make it work so it is not half as bad as you would think it might be. We don't want to end up broke like California. Workers can apply to go back to work and the city is allowing them to do so although it is risky for them and no garbage workers have applied yet but a lot of the ones with cushy office jobs have so nobody will lose their houses unless they choose to do so. Greedy unions suck and that is my whine for the day.

Being in a Union used to mean the best thing for workers to avoid getting screwed over by their bosses... now i'm not so sure. Unions were formed to protect the worker... now they're just protecting the Union Bosses...
