Hope yer ok Nands.

I actually had a bottle of vodka in my hand yesterday when I was in Tesco's.

I picked it up looked at it, really wanted to buy it, then just a little something made me put it back, don't know what ..............................................

I actually kind of know I'm going to drink again just don't know exactly when yet, and every day I manage to push the day back makes it less likely, or so I hope, maybe I'm just delaying the inevitable.

Anyhows, for me anyway, its not the day I drink again that I'm that bothered about to be honest, its the day after.

If I do drink and am able to cut it off at just one day then I'll be fine, the concern is that I find myself back in the situation where I've been drinking for a year again.

So ok Nands you drank yesterday or today or whatever timezone we're in, we are allowed to leave it at that though, you don't have to keep on going into today or tomorrow.

So you drank one time out of nearly the last 2 years, so what, worse things will happen, please don't go on to make this blip something bigger than it is.

Nands - there is no 'hope I wake up sober' - you have numbers, use them.

Fizzy - once you start think about inevitability, you're gone. You can stop this if you want. Do you want to?

Drinkings no answer to your stress right now.

And the 'just one night' thing is bollocks - I know if I go I'll go for weeks, if not years.

There's a "maybe" in there mate !!!!!!!

Do I want to stop it, I'm here ain't I, and I'm still sober.

Do I agree the " just one night " thing is bollocks ? Probably, I can't be sure though unless we try, and I guess thats not a secure way to find out.

I've already said myself in another post that whatever happens this week is better met sober, don't mean I don't have thoughts though, ain't far enough down the road yet for that.

Fizzy I've been so convinced about that one night thing a number of times. It's never worked out for me. Sometimes it might be one night for a little while, but within a few weeks it's back to one more night, and then one more, and then why not another. Don't do it!

Day 7 for me today. Even made it through a get-together with my condescending, irritating-as-f*ck visiting uncle yesterday!

It is so hard when people are struggling

I totally believe that everyone can get back on track and back to enjoying sobriety rather than just getting by.

I hope everyone keeps posting to let us know whats going on.

I know (to my own cost) that being on SR isn't the be all and end all of staying sober but I also know that isolating is the wrong way to go.

Everyone look after yourselves. x

not gonna lie

i'm not making the right decsion

i have negotiated a commitment with my son. I had told him when i got sober that if i drank i would go back to treatment immediatly.

instead, my mom is going to come this evening and stay with me for a few days to see that i eat right, take care of the physical problems and get that few days away from the drink so i canget things back on track and do the deal.

i don't know if this is the right thing, but i am not willing to just let myself go down the tubes. I am gonna fight to get my life back. I'll try not to post to much drivil...and i'm trying to watch myself in chat.

I have alot of feeling that i've harmed people by drinking...but that just leads to a bs reason for me to drink....and i refuse to go there

I hope it is ok that right now i'm a little bit pissed off...i'm angry that i am drinking and i am determined that i am gonna stop.....i refuse to let this go on
