Hi all...just wanted to pop in real quick to see how everyone is doing! Jake - I am SOOOO proud of you for ten days off.... I felt a little shakey this morning but during work today my mind was occupied so I am OK. I am getting a little nervous cuz it is 5 pm and I plan on going to my first AA meeting at 7.30... I will report back with how it went. hang in there everyone, this SUCKS so bad right now but just try to remember...this isn't supposed to be easy. Our bodies and brain are going thru a lot right now, trying to rebalance itself, and cleanse and detox.... if we keep it up and stay clean, we WILL eventually get better. |

Ok well call me chicken BOK-BOK but I totally wimped out going to AA tonight. I drove there...in a friggin SNOWSTORM...but when i pulled in there were only about 5 cars there!!??? I just couldn't get the courage to get out and go in. I sat and watched 2 more people pull up and go in. I don't know what type of people I was expecting, but they all looked "normal". I just couldn't do it. I used the excuse "oh, it's snowing too bad, and I don't want to walk that far to the front door." I suck! |

Sicilia don't feel bad about missing the meeting tonight, I would have been nervous too. Once you do make it to one let us know how it goes. I am thinking about finding a meeting to go to myself but haven't gotten the guts to do it yet. Stay strong!

Thanks for the encouragement! I am going to look into it tomorrow. I need to find something that is fairly close to home and at a convenient time. I probably won't be able to go until next week but I will make sure and get to one.

well the website i went on, you just type in your zip code and it pulls up all the meetings in your area, and i was so surprised at how many there were. literally hundreds, every day of the week. 8 am, noon, 7 pm. I even found at meeting at 5 am! how are you feeling besides that? are you nervous for this upcoming weekend? I am. I just feel bad for my poor little eyeballs that have been glued to this site for the past two days. |

I love this thread! I get so much strength from all of you! I started out on this thread. And today I have 60 days sober. Seems like just yesterday I was here with less than 2 weeks. Time somehow flew by. I want to let you all know that you can do this. It hasn't been easy for me, but I am making it through everything without picking up a drink. It was hard especially in the beginning, but it does get easier. It really does. So I am here cheering for all of you! Although I don't post very often, I am still around reading about your progress and I continue to see miracles unfold on this thread. Thanks for letting me be a part of it! |

sicilia and jakey....reading your talk about going to a meeting was cool...I hope that each of you do it soon. tonight even if you try. You may end up being so very very glad that you tried it. You may end up feeling good aboutl your decision to stop drinking. but no matter you can do this. If you want to, in your heart and soul, then you can do this. sometimes it will seem like you want to give in, and it is at those times that you have to buckle down and remember your desire to change. Imagine the possibilities that are before you. a new life. what could you do with your life if you became the best person you can be. what could you do for others on this planet. You are gold mines, diamonds in the rough (like aladin). may you believe in yourselves more and more thanks for sharing and helping me and others re-dedicate ourselves to staying clean

| Hello Everyone~ I hope you are all doing well so far today =) Day 4 and I finally got a GREAT night's sleep last night! Just finished putting up the Christmas tree and I'm about to have lunch and watch a movie =) Feeling good and will workout later today as well! What a difference a day makes, that is for sure. I'm also going to concentrate on getting healthy body wise, eating well and working out. I *KNOW* if I do this, I will manage things better and not feel the need to turn to booze or overeating to fix things =) Have a great day everyone and Stay Strong!!!! God Bless =)

I relapsed after 30 days sobriety and went to my home group of AA last night and I was scared to death. I thought they would be ashamed, embarrassed, and disappointed with me. But that was my own insane thinking. Perception not reality. . . . They are the most understanding, warm people in the world. And the ONLY kind of people that understand what I'm going through. Good luck on getting to your meeting. You'll love it! |

I am very grouchy today too... I went to bed around midnight and woke up at 8, and for some reason am still sooo tired, it was very hard to get out of bed. My brain feels so cloudy and my eyes kinda blurry? I had a cup of coffee but this cloudiness just won't go away. guess my brain is trying to get back to normal. | |

Sicilia ~ I feel a little better this afternoon, I think what it boils down to is that I didn't want to get out of bed today and I felt like taking the day off, but, I'm trying to save for a longer vacation. Yep, it does take the body awhile to heal. Keep on truckin' Wishing I could take a nap now |

Day #5, I got to say I am feeling great. My back hurts, but that is a separate problem. I also haven't smoked in 10 days or so. I am really feeling good. I get tempted here and there, but you have to sacrifice, either feeling great and content or getting a nice buzz when I am out and it just feels right. Not worth it, I'm going to keep going with sobriety.
