Wonderful work DK...37 days is quite an accomplishment! Is it possible that you are beginning to believe in yourself? We have the power to move mountains...one rock at a time!!! Keep it up!

I do believe in myself (as far as staying sober), but the wanting to part is the clencher. And I still feel ambivalent at times, especially about marijuana... I will say that I've passed up the opportunity to possibly score twice, once with a friend, and once at an AA meeting with someone who quit drinking but still smokes bud.

He ain't the first one to work the "Marijauna Maintenance" program!!! I know a few folks who got off the booze that way and then quit smoking dope as well...... I doubt it would have worked for me, the way my luck has rolled with dope I would have been busted the first time I scored!!! LOL

LOL, it was a little hippy chick. She said she always keeps it around the house and gives it away to her visitors. Know you know what question was on my mind... "Can I come over...? "

Sh*t should be legal, Taz. I believe a government-alcohol (pharmaceutical, oil, paper, you name it) industry conspiracy is keeping that from happening. Alcohol is far more dangerous and destroys way more lives.

That said, I smoke it addictively, and really shouldn't be using it.

DK I really have no opinion on whether any of it should be legal or illegal. The main reason why is legal or illegal they all (alcohol included) will always be there and will always be screwing up someones life...... legally or illegally.

There was a day when grass & all forms of opiates were legal, they both screwed up some peoples lifes then. There was a day when alcohol was illegal and it was still screwing up some peoples lifes.

Legal or illegal, it makes very little difference, some of us have no business using and or drinking, others handle it fine.

DK...I hear you about the "wanting" to stay sober...some days it can be a challenge ignoring the voice...but I am armed with the truth...drinking for me means an early death. As long as I listen to the voice of truth I am unafraid.

Quitting 2 addictions at once is quite an accomplishment...stay strong.

Many who have supported me on this thread do not frequent that forum. In fact, I don't post on that forum much either...

Perhaps the 'Alcoholism' section needs a sub-forum for ongoing support threads.

eeeks.....I do support you!!!!!!! but I have to say I do not support the decision to have a seperate section for "daily support......although I like your idea of a "sub area".....cause then we would all have to go to the newcomer section to get to it....

I hate to admit it...but I sometimes take too long to get to the newcomer section

Not Sr's falt though...i need more self decipline!!!!

Big yippppeeee for 37 days!!!!!

props for 37/8 days DK

Seems a little odd to me to move the thread away from those who have supported it too, but I guess we'll work with it...

Nah, if I found you, the others will, too.

Keep going strong, Paul. Even if you're thrashing around a bit. I had plenty of days gnashing my teeth. Grrrrrr.

Hugs,

Donna

Oh for the love of mud, 10,000 comedians in the unemployment line, and you're applying for the job!

I know where you are-I've been lurking in the bushes!

You do realize now that every time I see your avatar, I have an urge to go consume a couple dozen chocolate bars and walk around saying "I am the great Cornholio, I need tp for my bungholio!"

Yes, oldest AD and I used to watch Beavis and Butthead faithfully!
