The last few days I've been working on a snow fence all the way around the yard so the dogs can play this winter. It's really starting to materialize.

I'm nervous now... Last week I called a gymnastics club in Spokane to find out about their open gym and they expressed interest in putting me on staff as a sub. I emailed them a resume, and they just called and want me to come in on Thursday to meet with them... Deep breaths, lol...

I'm one of the wimpy Portlanders becoming a shut-in because of a couple inches of snow and a deep freeze. I think the wind chill is single digits though, and that's COLD for us!! It's also really windy here.

Hi, Colagirl. Leavenworth is just down the hill from Stevens Pass, right at the base of the Cascades. Very beautiful, but touron central. Where I'm at now is about 35 miles west of Spokane, out in the wheat fields. Yeah, this is pretty cold for here too. It makes temp's in the 20's feel good! I bundle up and go out anyway though. Here's my ice fence, lol... ![]() ![]() Oh yeah... that store has way more ridiculous hats than that one!

I dunno, Dita... this is quite possibly the most boring town on earth, lol. I've got some errands to run today. Need to go into Spokane to my mom's and pick up a bag of dog food she got for me at Costco, find a box to ship a commercial vacuum cleaner I sold on eBay (I did well on this one, paid $10, sold for $199. That's by far the most I've ever made on one item. Of course eBay and Paypal get their cut, and I will probably have to purchase a box). Then I'm meeting a guy from Craig's List to possibly trade my 2 10's sub box for a single 12. In light of my new fortune.. I might shop for a pair of boots which I really need (my old ones are falling apart), and then when I get back I've got shipping to do... There's a meeting I like in Spokane at noon which I may try to squeeze in as well. Better start getting ready...

Well... I found some boxes and neither work, so it's back to the drawing board on that. I traded speaker boxes and am having some remorse.. didn't research first and he got the better end of the deal, and the AA meeting was religious as hell and I left early. I came home, had a fake beer, and ate, and ate, and ate... the dickydo is filling out in nicely, btw...

Well, yesterday, when I got back from my junk food run, I looked at my receipt to check my food stamp (I hate saying that) and saw that I now have a 'cash' balance, which means that my GAU was accepted. I didn't think I'd have any problems being accepted after completely breaking down at that psych eval, but I'm suprised DSHS didn't send me a letter notifying me of my acceptance (they send out letters for everything), although I did get one saying that I need to send in a copy of my certified birth certificate for my medical coverage, which kinda implied that I had been accepted. I have mixed feelings about being on General Assistance. I'm relieved to be getting some money, but still feel guilty about being on the program. I am starting to feel less like a basket case, so hopefully it will be temporary... Oh yeah, I did end up finding a perfect box and got that vacuum shipped off the next day.

I'm feeling grumpy today... I didn't go to my atheist & agnostic meeting this morning because the weather is bad and I didn't want to make the drive into Spokane. I like winter, but it's pretty nasty out, even for me... My gf has to drive to work, and I'm a little worried about that. So... I'm chillin' at home. I'm supposed to make a beef stew, and really haven't got a clue how...

Hi DK... I'm missing meetings because of snow, too. It'll melt eventually though Beef stew... the awesome thing is you just throw everything in and boil! That sounds tasty. |

Oh lordy, I barely boil water without a recipe. I require a lot of direction. But once you have the ingredients you just boil, that's what I was saying. I need to clean my room- I guess that's a good snow day accomplishment. I always thought that being sober would magically make me a very neat and organized person. Nope! T |
