From an old friend of mine. He called and sounded all shook up and I was like "what's up dude" and he just said..."dude, I need to get into NA" So I told him to meet me at my house after work and I'd take him to a meeting tonight.

So all yall out there, can yall send up some prayers for m friend, his name is Chad.

Well chad aint doing so hot. He is a marine and he's been on 3 tours of Iraq....I've seen some of the pictures he brought back when I was still using....horrible ****.....He went to the marine base in New Orleans today for a psyciatric evaluation and the Dr. is putting through papers for him to go on permanat disability b/c he is screwed from the **** he has had to do and see.

He seemed so empty, it was really sad. All that torment for what? I hate this war.

He was a little drunk when he got to my house, we went to the meeting with my friend doug and we talked on the way about how alcohol was a drug too. He said he was really nervous at the meeting and he really wanted to go use. I told him where the meeting was tomorrow and that he could ride with me again if he wanted and to not use tonight and see how he felt tomorrow...I really hope he comes to this meeting tomorrow, there are a couple vietnam vets that go to it that I think could probably relate to him better than I could.

Keep the prayers/thoughts up.

Prayers sent Blake. Have faith in Chad's Higher Power. I was the first one to get clean out of my crew and God gave me faith in their HP's when I wanted to count them out. By just being there for them they knew they had an example of someone living clean and a new way of life. Two of those friends picked up one year key tags in April and June. Two other friends are in the program now around the 40 to 60 day mark. It's amazing seeing the old crew come in and change. Your gratitude speaks when you care and share the NA way.....

i was in our first persian gulf disaster.i remember the pain,the disgust,and the self loathing the war gave me about life.now i know i had to feel those lows as a part of my path,but the pain was hell.
he has all the prayers i have.
