| One of the most simple and profound things I've hear recently
Speaker- "When I was at the shooting gallery and they said this is how you get High!! I didn't argue with them, I didn't sit in the back of the room. I didn't give up my seat for anyone. I got there early, I sat right up in front and learned and listened how to get High." "When people say this is how you stay clean (90/90, phone addicts, don't pick-up no matter what) sometimes it's such a struggle."

Yup. My first sponsor - a rather proper lady - tells the story that when she was in treatment, one of the councelors called her a stubborn b!tch. She was appalled! But then the councelor said to her, if you put your stubborness toward your recovery instead of resisting it, you'll get it! She did and celebrated 5 years recently.

I have to say that my favorite is "If you have one foot in the past and the other in the future, then you are pissing on your present" I also like "today is a gift, that is why it is called the present" ![]() Fallen Angel |

Got It- I think it's a take on the "If you want what we have you will do what we did/do" but at more real level.

Got it- my firnd doug tells it like this in his story..."when I started getting high, I didn't know how to get high...I had to learn from the people I saw getting high, do what they did, ask questions.....when I got clean, I didn't know how to stay clean.....I had to learn from the people I saw staying clean. do waht they did, ask question..."
