Drugs

Hi I'm New To This Site And Now Only 24 Hours Clean From Crack. I StartED Posting Last Nite In The New Recovery Section. I Think It Is Great But Find The Na Great As Well. I Having Been Using Drugs And Alcohol For 25 Years. Crack Most Recently Walked Into My Life Approx 3 Months Ago. Clean At Most For A 5 Year Stretch..damn My Life Was Good Then. Spent Alot Of Time With My Family, Went Shopping, Went To Work On A Regular Basis, Went On Vacations. Now: Lost My House, Poor Credit, Living Check To Check (When I Go To Work That Is). And Most Importantly Have Destroyed My Childrens Hearts. Now Divorced(my Ex Was A User) THIS WAS A GOOD THING. This Year HAS SUCKED. Looking Into Rehab.I'm A Baby In Recovery, This Site Has Helped Keep Me Clean For 24 Hours. But I Know I Need Some Intensive Rehab, Not Sure About Detox. I Use To Blame Drinking On Wanting To Go Do Drugs, Now I Just Go Buy Drugs Without Drinking. Actually I Can't Remember The Last Time I Drank. I Feel Like Yoyo. I Am Slowly Putting The Positive Back In My Life For My Own Healing And Then Eventually To Heal With My Children. Verrrrry Painful. Definitly One Second At A Time For Me, I Will Never Become Over Confident Again In My Ability To Beat This Alone I NEED ALOT OF HELP. THAT IS SOMETHING THAT IS HARD FOR ME TO SAY. BECOMING AN ADDICT DIDN'T HAPPEN OVERNITE AND RECOVERY IS A LIFETIME. THXS For Listening . Laurie

Welcome to SR laurie.

A drug is a drug is a drug. NA teaches me that ANY drug will ruin my life Your life can get back to how it was (and much much better), if you are willing to work for it.

I think NA is great too, it is helping me everyday to save my life and I will never be able to pay that debt back. Check out some meetings in your area, they work! and keep posting here.

www.na.org <----- you can search for meetings in your area here.

Good luck,
Blake

Also am a mom...
my kids were 12 & 15 when I went into treatment. My exAH was my using partner for 25 years until I chose sobriety & he did not.
My disease rapidly progressed when I began smoking meth instead of just doing lines...
Your life can get better ...one day at a time!

Glad to have you here, Laurie. And you're right, sometimes it's second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour. Just don't pick up and get to a meeting.

((((((((((((((LAURIE))))))))))))))))))

24 hours is a gift. You know as well as I do that in itself is a miracle!!!!!!!!!
Hang in there. Crack grabs a hold of you and wont let go. Im not even going to sugar coat it--Its going to be hard. But if you want this bad enough-YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One second at a time--thats what I had to do for a long time. Still do sometimes. Keep going to meetings!!!!!!!!!! Hang in there!!!!!!!!!!!
