| Are any of you sponsors to addicts and what would you tell the family?
The family is told to work there program just as the addict is to work theirs...what would sponsors tell family members about paying for rehabs and detoxes over and over again? Would you tell us to let the addict get the help they need without our involvement? I am just curious what sponsers who deal with the addict whom is in the midst of a binge/bender would tell the family? Besides don't give money, etc. Let him fall and reach bottom on his own? When are we to give up? Not stop loving but let go until they have done it on their own...maybe this is similar to my other post...and Gooch answered it for me...

I don't sponsor the "family". I sponsor the male addict. If he keeps using that's his process and hopefully his process will find him in recovery one day.
