| percocet
hi, does anyone know if you only took one percocet would if show up in a urine test 3 or 4 days later? Also, is anyone there that has had a problem with taking percocet? I've started getting numbness in my hand ecspecially while sleeping also, my fingers are sore (like my joints) could this be associated with taking to much? I'm afraid of it causing a stroke - possible? thanks |

Welcome Cambridge.. Talk to your doctor. Different people can have different reactions to different medications. Depending on the quantity and frequency of dosage, physical detox may need to be managed or supervised by a medical professional. addiction to a drug is only the tip of an iceberg we can learn to live with. The spiritual, and mental facets that go along with a physical craving for drugs, can take a lifetime of just for todays to "get off of". I'm sure the rest of the gang will be along to welcome you any minute. |

Hello. I am an addict and my drug of choice was anything opiate...percocets, vics, etc. The numbness in your fingers? I'm no doctor and Gooch is right, you should discuss this with a medical professional. It may be due to the fact that when you sleep while taking opiates, you often are so dead to the world, out cold, that you do not move at all during the night. So the blood supply to your extremities is reduced, causing numbness and tingling. I don't know about stroke. I really think you should talk to a doctor. Are you addicted to the percocet? Do you have withdrawals if you don't take them? Withdrawal symptoms last for a few days or up to a week. If you are new to using or abusing opiates, I hope you can find a way to stop now. It is very easy to get sucked in. Welcome, and keep posting with questions, etc. There are a ton of great people here! Ashley |

I found SR because I was getting funny side effects when cutting down off a prescription of Percocet after surgery. I am a recovering addict, so I wanted to make sure I kept on the straight and narrow. I also agree with the above that if you're getting numb and weird, you definitely need to see a doc about it asap. Percocet can cause all kinds of kooky things, including severe flu like symptoms when you cut back and cut out completely. These symptoms go away as stated within a few days, but it kind of sucks to go through. Plenty of water, food, and excersize while doing so is what I did. I still take Percocet under the care of a doctor for pain management from a broken spine and subsequent physical consequences. The scenerio I described was going from post spinal fusion surgery to the current pain management maintanence. Good luck!
