Question about a street drug - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

Does anyone know what drug it is that you would use that would make your eyes and face swell? I would appreciate anyones input.

That sounds like an allergic-type reaction, so it could really be just about anything. Sorry I'm not more help this time!

What exactly is crack, is that the same as meth?

crack is a way that cocaine is processed that makes the high as quick as shooting up it is not the same as meth amp but, I suppose your loved one could possibly be on meth. I have seen people have the same reaction to both drugs...No matter what it is it sounds like an allergic reaction to me.

Splendra's right. Crack is cocaine in smokable form. Meth (methamphetamine) may also be smoked. This is the fastest way to get a high from a drug. Both cocaine and meth are stimulants, so while they are not the same, they are similar.

When my daughter tried ecstasy, she had an allergic reaction, her hands and face swelled up and she broke out in a rash.

ANY, form of med allergy can do this.

And the thing with "street" drugs is you really don't know what all is in there. Like I said, anything could cause an allergic reaction in certain people, especially if there are impurities in it.

sounds to me like an allergic reaction!! Trust Eddie, and I on this we both are in healthcare....whatever the pill was appears to have something in it to cause the swelling...DO not take or whoever took it take it again....

But, being a street drug there is NO telling what was in it.....and sorry I know nada bout illegal drugs...

Thank you all for your advice, it's my 19 year old son that chose to be thrown out rather than get help with his addictions.

My ex got some bad crack once that broke her out in blisters. An allergic reaction can kill you. It can make your throat swell shut and close off your airway passages ( any doctor will tell you that) I'd tell him to seek medical attention.

I am really sorry you and your son are going through this. Check out the Nar-anon forum. They will offer you alot of support.

BTW, you did the best thing you could do by throwing him out. My parents cut me off totally, and it helped me hit my bottom much faster.
