Dear Members SR and AA/NA,
I am writing this letter to encourage those of you with some sobriety under your belt to please consider making a committment to attending one meeting a week here online.
You have much to offer the new person coming in through the cyber doors of SR in search of recovery from addiction.
My experiences with AA would not be nearly as rewarding if it were not for the folks who faithfully show up and share their ESH, though in all honesty some of the most profound things I have heard in meetings have come from the newcomer.
In exploring as many other sites with online meetings as time permits, I have come to the humble conclusion that the caliber of the meetings offered here at SR closely mirror those that we experience in an f2f environment.
It is a fact that being in actual contact with other human beings is the ideal way to get centered and begin the healing process on this path to recovery, notice the word …“Ideal”.
The stigma attached to online meetings versus f2f is slowly evolving, and online meetings are helping to fill in the gaps left by the crazy and hectic pace our society keeps.
Sometimes at the end of the week while reflecting on f2f meetings and meetings held online at SR, I realize that just as much was received and given from meetings here as from f2f meetings.
The most important members are the newcomers, we are giving back what was so freely given to us when we walked through the doors of AA/NA and SoberRecovery.
