| Meth Banger
Are there any out there who are in recovery who were banging meth? I would like to be able to help someone who is an addict and that is his drug of choice. I know that addiction is addiction is addiction but I also beleive that everyones drug of choice may require differant actions in dealing with their recovery. I would really appreciate any help and advice anyone can give me ion this drug of choice, (meth) and the fact that he is injecting rather than smoking the drug. Sometimes I fear he is in so deep he may never be the same person I knew long ago. If you have a story that you think might help me, I would like to hear it, if for no other reason than to give myself some hope for the future. Thanks

Hi dobber - If you have not already done so I would suggest that you hop on over to our naranon board and do some reading and get to know the people over there, I am sure you will find it very helpful. As you know, you cannot help someone that does not want help, no matter how much you know about the drug they are using. I will share one thing with you, and this is just my opinion from my experience. My husband and I are both recovering addicts. He used meth and needles, I snorted meth. We work our program of recovery the same. What works for us, is having a relationship first and formost with a God of our understanding, going to NA meetings, working the 12 steps with a sponsor and sharing our recovery with others on the same path as us. What I am trying to say is that in my opinion, the drug or how you ingest it into your body does not matter, if you want recovery and are willing to go to any lengths to get it, that is what matters. Good luck to you and your friend.

We are hear for the same reasons, first we are addicts and second we are seeking Recovery. I believe what Paulie said to be very True. We don't compare how we use chemicals and we don't dwell on the past, the 12 steps are our solutions, so that would be key for most recovering addicts.
