starting step 4

o.k here,s my problem first of all Im not scared of it.I just have lost alot of memeries of all the bad things and people in my far past now I can remember pretty much most of my recent stuff but not far back in my past.I have the work book Im hopeing its not going to be as hard to do as I think it is.I can say that Im A very open person and there isnt anything that I can think of that Im hideing deep inside me that this step will solve.but Im going to do it anyways and see what happens everyone at my meeting talks how this step has changed them. I hope for the same results.

Do you have a sponsor? Realizing myself that the 4th step isn't a show and tell, its really getting to know who I am and seing it in the light. Good luck with it, time to move on.

It helped me tremendously to write down a prayer before I started writing the fourth step. I asked god to be with me and carry me every step of the way, guide me, grant me the courage to walk through the difficult feelings and emotions. I also asked him to help me be as thorough and honest as possible. Do your best, and you will always get a chance to do another 4th step in the future, More will be revealed!! A sponsor will really come in handy to tell you what kind of patterns to look for and what kind of format to follow in your writing.

My first 4th step was getting to know me. Remembering everything in your past will come if it needs to, remember your 3rd step, you turned your will and life over to God as you understand God, let him guide you thru it. They are no time limit but a sponsor with more clean time then you and a understanding of this step is a must, this is not a onetime step, we do apply it and all the steps to our new life. thanks guys I do have a sponser and he did call me if I get jamed.I think I have a awsome sponser And I use him very much.Iwas just wanting some of your opinions on my situation on the 4th step.you guys are great and I love you all.thanks service junkie I will pray before I start In the first 3 steps the spiritual principals tell me to be honest,openminded,willing, so I realy need to use those doing this step and taking suggestions.thanks guys love ya.

Hey...I hope I'm not interrupting a guy thing. I even double checked to make sure I wasn't in the wrong forum. I just wanted to say good luck on your fourth step. It looks like you're coming right along. That's great news. New memories will start to pop up. The pen will start to glide across the paper as the memories start to flow. Good luck...

Try to remember, that the actions are already done, now it is just a matter of documenting them. As long as you have the 1st three steps firmly under your belt, and you apply them, you will be fine. Remember to write as if there is no 5th step.

Shoot up a prayer, pick up the pen, and God will guide your hand.

It's important for me to remember that an inventory is a list of everything we have. This is a moral inventory..so it's a list of all the morals we have and how we've applied them.( and in some cases had an opportunity to apply them and missed it or didn't choose to). Don't overfocus on the "bad" stuff. Be sure to write down everything. It's nice when we get done to be able to look at all the "good" stuff we own too.
