Welcome Cafeine .. I got clean same as everyone else. Got sick and tired of being sick and tired and after I exhausted every single idea I had, wound up resistantly going to an nA meeting. I met some great folks there who had been in the same boat but weren't getting high anymore. They helped me figure out that if I didn't start back up with the first one, I wouldn't have to ever quit again. It's been working for me for going on 14 years. have you ever tried Narcotics Anonymous? www.na.org there are meeting locators and helpline numbers for nearly every corner of the world on the site. Check it out. It's worked to help lots of us hopeless dope fiends become dopeless hope fiends. |

I can identify where you're at, a place called HELL, we've all been there and there is a way out, Narcotics Anonymous is a self-help group and there are people like us who have found a simple way to live. You can find the strength there to live life and enjoy life as well. Good Luck. Addict named Todd

Moontime- addict. My story is sooooo similar to your story. Being abstinent from drugs and meeting a girl, relapsing, then not knowing how to get one day clean again. Narcotics Anonymous saved my life. WE PROMISE that an addict, any addict can stop using, lose the desire to use and find a new way of life. This is so true man, give yourself a break and attend an NA meeting, we resurrect people from the dead, we fix broken personalities, we help form that connection with a HP through the 12steps, so you will never ever feel that void again. Give it a shot! We do recover!

I have a brother who lives near London - A place called Luton. I've never visited but one day I will. Anyhow...... When our lives are in a mess because of our addiction we tend to see only the mess everywhere we look. That is exactly what our disease wants us to see. But there is a way out! Narcotics Anonymous offers that way out. The message is simple - Hope and the promise of freedom. Take another look around, my friend, from a different direction and you will see that you can find a way out. You are worth it! cj | |

Agree with everyone and I had to leave my friends too. Once I understood that this disease wants to kill me, make my life unmanageable, seperate me from everyone I love and everyone that loves me. I had to break ties, it was very hard, but you know what I'm alive today and I lost 8 out of 10 friends due to this disease, that's the path I was heading down to. My surround myself with the winners today, with people working a program in recovery and my life has never been better.

Welcome to soberrecovery Caffine, I'm an addict named Mike. I just wanted to say welcome home to you!! We definately all know where you are comming from on this message board, and we have all found a way out of the hell of drug addiction. There are alot of people on this site who just want to help you and don't want anything in return, same as in our meetings. I was hoplessly addicted and didn't know how to stop either. I came to NA and found many others who had been in my shoes before and who have found a way out. We help each other stay clean and it works because we all think and act the same. I have learned to live and ENJOY life without drugs by taking some simple suggestions from people at meetings and making some changes in my life. In NA, our experience shows that an addict, ANY ADDICT, can stop using drugs, loose the desire to use, and find a new way to live. This is a link for your region, you can get meeting info on here for your area. http://www.ukna.org/ Glad you are here caffine, let us know how we can help you and how you are doing. Hang in there, we can do together what we could never do alone.
