Anyone know the difference between Lorcet Plus and Lortab 5/500???
I was prescribed these both and need some pain meds, but scared to take any. Please give me some info. Thanks

I believe Lorcet plus has a higher dose of acteominephen than the Lorcet 5/500. Check with your pharmacist.

Hey Italy--don't give up on us! Some of us are just sort of slow. I don't know anything about the meds you are talking about, so I am no help there. Did you talk to your doctor about it? Does he/she know your concerns about becoming addicted? As I understand it, as long as you only take the meds AS PRESCRIBED and only while you really need them, you will not become addicted. Still, though, you should talk to your doctor to be sure.

You can go to www.webmd.com and it will provide you alot of information. I know that Lorcet is a form of codeine which is not suggested. The dosage is what you need to be aware of and something your doctor or the pharmacist can help you with if you do not feel looking up the medications. I had Lorcet after my shoulder surgery and I did not like! It can be addictive to those who are or have been addicted before-I have not so it was ok but short lived in my book!

I would talk to the doctor about it if you feel comfortable ..he can tell you best!

Lorcet 5/500 is 5mg of pain killer and 500 mg of acetaminaphen/tylenol. All loracet tablets are either 5mg, 7.5mg, or 10 mg. The pharmacy the should tell you. The plus is the tylenol in it. Nurse Ratchett replies.

Huh?? Since when does NA suggest not to take medication???

Can you point out in our literature where it says codeine is not suggested.
