| any tips for helping with cocaine withdrawl?
I am on day two of sobriety, not much time under my belt but I'm already having difficulty sleeping and have been very agitated all day. I have been fighting constantly with my boyfriend for absolutly no reason (he is also quiting, and at the same time). Does anyone have any advice for getting us through these first few weeks? I normally take over-the-counter diet pills and drink a lot of coffee, should I avoid these for a while? And how long will it take for me to lose the urge to kill him every time he leaves a toilet seat up or looks at me wrong? lol, Ok, it's not QUITE that bad, but I have not been very cheerful today. Also, how do I go about finding a cocaine anonymous or narcotics anonymous group or sponser? Do I have to attend the group to get a sponser? Thanks for any advice.

Hi I'm Moontime and I'm an addict. I remember what my sponsor told me, nobody ever died of being tired or agitated, they have died by using drugs. So, first off, these withdrawl symptoms will wear off, I would suggest not picking up no matter what. I would attend an NA meeting, for me my disease isn't a symptom disease, a particular drug or beverage, I have the disease of addiction, so for me I have no need to go to Cocaine Anonymous, Alcoholics Anoymous, Shopping Anonymous, Marijuana Anonymous, choose your symptom Anonymous. I suffer from the disease of addiction, that manifests itself in many different ways. We are a one stop shop.

lol... Good one Moon... Hey jpc... recovering coke addict here... I read a few of your other posts... and I assume your usage level was fairly high... so... with cocaine... one can expect irritability.. anxiety... and probably some sort of crash. If it was I... I would taper off the coffee and diet pills... both are full of stimulants... The 12 step program has lifted my life out of the toilet... so... I'd recommend to anyone to get their addicted self into a meeting... and to be as diligent about finding a meeting as one was finding their drugs... ;o) Stick with us here.... lots of success stories... lots of hope when things wanna go south... Congrats on day one.... We're all here for you to help you get through day two. | |
