Surgery today.

I just wanted to let you all know that I had surgery this morning. I wasn't able to get on and post the past few days, or I would have asked for prayers. I did OK. I had a small problem in the recovery room and was almost admitted over-night, but it all worked out and I am home now. I am groggy and in some pain, and very queezy right now. I am not going to stay on long, I just needed to let people know where I am.

I had a rough night last night. Alot of pain, discomfort and very strange and bizarre nightmares. One thing that I became aware of. I usually share that I come to NA because I loved to get high, not because I hated it. Well, my opinion changed last night. It has been so long that I felt that way. After I came out of the anesthesia, and after taking the pain meds, I could not stand the way I felt. That blurry, slit eyed, slurring out of control feeling was horrible. How the He** did I do that on a daily basis? Don't get me wrong, I do understand that I am an addict and I could very well become accustomed to doing that again, but holy sh*t, that was horrible. Hopefully I will feel better by tonite and I will try to get to a meeting.

Discovered that too Laurie.. I don't like any of the buzz anymore. When I had to take painkillres for surgeries or injuries, after the initial discovery, I usually ask if they have something that will knock me right out so I can sleep through the deal.

Glad to hear that all went well. Prayers are coming your way to help ease the pain. I hope you can get to a meeting soon, but don't rush it if you're not feeling well. You can always go to the online meeting here. Take care.

I am feeling soooo much better today. Thank you all for the well wishes. I didn't push myself to go to a meeting last night, but I have made plans to go tonite. My sponsor probably would have read me the riot act if I showed up at a meeting last night.lol
