| The reality of using.
On Monday nights I volunteer on my local NA hotline. I just got a call from a woman who said her addict boyfriend is not coherent and is not breathing right. I told her to hang up and call 911, and she said okay and hung up. But it is calls like that that help me to remember the reality of the disease that I have. We can do this, we can stay sober, we have to want it and we have to be openminded and willing. And to keep it we have to give it away and share with others. I truly believe this in my heart.

Thanks Paulie, I really needed to read: "We can do this, we can stay sober, we have to want it and we have to be openminded and willing. And to keep it we have to give it away and share with others." this morning. In working our 12th step we can see the power in that step and in working our on program. "Have had a spiritual awakening as THE result of these steps..." The Spiritual Awakening is all I need to expect as result of practicing these principles in all my affairs, it's how I except life on life's terms, It's way I'm always open and willing to share with anyone reaching out. Thanks again for my great morning meditation topic...Have A Great Day Paulie...

Peace, Working the helpline is a very good way to give back (12th step). Keep helping...you are needed. No matter what happens on the other end of the phone, the fact that someone is there when an addict calls for help is what we strive for, and it sure will "keep it green" for you, too. Peace
