Hello, Sick! We are here, but this isn't a chat room, so sometimes it takes a while for someone to see your message. Post a little more about your situation and how we can help, and I'm sure you'll get some help and support. I've been addicted to painkillers like oxy, so I know what you might be going through. Hope you come back soon! Ashley |

| Sick, I remember the hopelessness and fear of starting recovery. It is possible, but there are steps you need to take and work to be done. It isn't always sunshine and roses, but you can do it because so many of us have! I was addicted to opiates for over 10 years. I have almost 6 years of sobriety. First, go to your doctor. If you don't have one, find one or call your local drug abuse hotline found in the front of your phone book. They can direct you to the appropriate place in your area. In the Boston area, I am sure there are many avenues to recovery. Enter detox. You need to withdraw slowly to avoid the side effects and the advantage is you will be with others who share your experience. Have you tried Narcotics Anonymous? Fabulous group and a wealth of support. If your family and friends are supportive confide in them. If not, NA is still the best bet for help as you travel the road of recovery. Keep posting and know that we are here for you.
