This weekend at an NA campout, the saturday night speaker was a young woman from this area. I remember her introduction to NA. She called the help-line and I was on duty at the time. She was 17 years old, and scared to death to tell her parents. Together we got her through it. She kept relapsing at first, and then finally surrendered almost 4 years ago. This weekend the message that came out of this child, from deep within her soul, was so powerful and spiritual, that I was moved to tears. She has come so far, and can no longer be called a child, but a beautiful young woman. I post this because of the power it had. You see, I DO NOT cry in public. It is one of my down falls, I just won't do it. Yet this Tiny little wisp of a girl was so powerful that I sat in that meeting and bawled my eyes out. When I shared I told her she just made my next 4th step for making me cry in public.lol (she knows this about me) Watching others grow in recovery is so rewarding.

Hi Namommy, and thanks for sharing! I'm going to a 1-year cake tonight for a friend of mine who just over a year ago was living under a bridge and was a skidrow addict. He now has a nice home, a beautiful girlfriend who is also in recovery, a full-time job, and a group of friends who really love him. This guy lives and breathes the program, is there whenever and wherever another addicts needs his help, and is one of my biggest supporters. Recovery is a beautiful thing to witness.

It is truelt amazing how much we get from others now that we can feel our emotions. . .before, while we were using. . .had we walked by an heard someone telling that story we would have thought to ourselves or just blurted out to them without any guilty consciencious "Oh too bad, so sad". . .an just kept on our way. . .but now that we see that we no longer had to shield ourselves with drugs or alcohol an be emotionaless. . .it's a beautiful thing to be able to share our happiness an laughter. . .or our sadness an tears. . .with others that can truley feel for us. . .an have traveled down that long, dark, an lonely path of addiction. . .
