|  Day By Day - May 7th ..::*Returning To Sanity*::.. For most of us, staying straight was always a life and death matter.For some, it took longer for this realization to sink in than for others. But the highlight of our insanity was trying was trying to prove that we were different. We wanted to prove that somehow we could get out of the work that was required.We tried to prove that this program wasn't the only way out or for us We tried all this while our lives layed on the line. Our insanity does run to the extreme at times, and nothing short of a spiritual awakening and guidance from our Higher Power will restore our sanity. Is my insanity behind me? Lord, teach me how I can return to sanity: teach me how to live in a drug free world Today I will work my program in the following ways: GOD HELP ME TO STAY CLEAN AND SOBER TODAY (C) 1974 HAZELDEN FOUNDATION
