Having A Vision
Having A Vision
Having a vision is something that most people in the world have had in one way or another. The Vision of a house with a picket fence, a two car garage, a wife with children, a good paying job. There are times when these visions become reality. However, it doesn’t just come with a wave of a magic wand. No, most of our Visions, our Dreams, our Hopes take a lot of work and a lot of effort.
During our journey in life, we sometimes come upon obstacles that will take us for a turn into a different direction, we may find a bump in the road that leads us off of the main street in our goals, our dreams, our visions. We hit those craters, bumps, or the slick spot and we quickly get back on track.
Than when we think that we have gone through a lot of ruff times, we feel we can concord anything. Than, some of us ended up meeting something that was a lot worst than any bump, slick spot, crater, or anything else of the such. We came upon something that is literally a breathing demon that has no air. We (some of us) found Drugs, Alcoholism, the Party life. We found something that doesn’t care about who you are, how much money you make, what your status is in your local town, or even the President of The United States. We found a living situation that Kills. We found Addiction!
We didn’t ask to become Addicts, we didn’t want to become Alcoholics. We thought maybe at the time, we were just having some fun, we were blending in with the *In Crowd* only to realize that not only did we blend in with the *In Crowd* we were literally drug into the heart of a evil that has no limitations.
We thought well, “We will just get back on the road. I mean how hard can it be?” Than we started to turn on the steering wheel only to find out that we couldn’t even turn it. We tried to get out of the Hole that we just dropped down in like we did before, yet we couldn’t escape from the Hole of Hell of Addiction. We were TRAPPED. No matter what we did, how hard we tried, we kept falling back down, slipping on the edge of the Road only to be pulled down further. We had met the match that didn’t have any feelings of what our dreams, our goals, and it certainly had taken our Vision away. We were blinded.
We never thought that we would be able to come out of this. We thought that we were going to end up living in a complete darkness for the rest of our lives. We thought that we had tried so hard to defeat this situation that there was no hope for us at all. Than, without any effort on our part, we heard of a Way in which we might be able to get back on track.
With the hand reaching out toward us all we had to do was to Grab and we would only have to put a little effort into saving us to regain our Vision. Not only to regain our Vision, but to give us a Bigger Vision than what we had ever imagined. We were headed to a release from the Dark Side that had taken our dreams away. We had only one thing to do, to pass it on to others that had lost their way, during their rocky road. We found The Program Of Recovery!
The PROGRAM that taught us how to live so we could avoid those Craters, The Program that taught us how to weave around the Holes of Hell, The Program that taught us how to Crawl out of the Hole without the Rope that was burning our hands. Yes we Found Recovery. One Day At A Time … Just For Today.
Visions, Hopes, the Picket Fence, the wife and kids, the two car garage. We might have even lost all, but in all reality, we gained more than just the material things. We Gained Freedom!
