for you:

1) Its not about you at all. If he gets clean and stays that way you were just a messenger nothing more nothing less. if he goes back out ITS NOT YOUR FAULT, sometimes it takes what it takes.

2) Work the steps as out-lined in the big book. Make at least 2 hours a week to sit down with your sponsie and read together out of it. Start at the preface and work your way to the end. You read a page then he will read a page its just that simple. Its sounds childish but THIS IS THE CONER STONE OF RECOVERY learn the 12 steps as written and take them soon after.

3)Finally get them involved in service as soon as possible even if its something as easy as setting up chairs before a meeting or making coffee this will seg-way nicely in to teaching him about the 12 traditions and then that will seg-way nicely it to teaching him that AA/NA is his responsibility not someone else’s.
