NA Meetings and Sponsor!

Well, I did it folks, I started to attend NA. I went to my first meeting 2 months ago and some of you may remember how disillusioned I was after the leader pulled out a bottle of norco, so to keep myself safe, I kept only going to AA where I grabbed someone with some clean time and asked her to sponsor me. We did get together a few times, but she has some mental illness going on and told me she can no longer attend meeting cuz everyone hates her and stalks her......

So, I went to an NA meeting on a Saturday night and it was wonderful! It had a mix of old timers, new ppl and a new lady who recently moved here due to her job who works a strong program of NA and has been clean since 1982! yay! So I asked her for her number. After the meeting we all went and got pie and we talked a little more.

I actually picked up the phone and called her yesterday and we had a great talk and she said she would love to sponsor me, and what she expects, and she told me to order a workbook and lets get started. She said she likes to take ppl thru the steps in a year.....

So, I am soooo stoked! Oh, and the guy who busted out the norco gave the church keys over to someone else who is working a program and quit leading and I just think NA is going to TAKE OFF! we have some women in the program now, and I am very excited! Sunday night I was the only woman at that meeting, but it was a good meeting anyway..... they were all nice guys. :-D

So, that is my 68 day clean update for now....

Well, now I have more good news. I took on a service job. I am now the chair person for the thursday night NA meeting! Scary, huh? I have all of 70 days clean. However, this is why, the meeting only has 4 ppl in it. 2 are brand spanking new, then she and I. Recently the keys were handed over to another lady because the leader had relapsed. (yep, the same guy that had busted out the norco when I had gone to my first NA meeting here and had only 23 days clean) So tonight the gal who is also running a Saturday night meeting asked me if I was interested, so...............I said sure! YAY! I have a job now. ppl are counting on me to suit up and show up.
