| Anyone Into Nikki Sixx - The Heroin Diaries (Soundtrack)
Wow. I gotta say, I was never a Motley Crue fan and I sometimes think books about rock star's addiction stories are a dime a dozen.... but this is different. First off, I listened to a radio interview with him and I was generally impressed. This guy is the read deal and he found recovery through the 12 steps of NA. So I know his recovery is real, ya know? And the The heroin Diaries Soundtrack, IMO, is stunning. Mind-blowing in some parts. His new band, Sixx:A.M. is incredible. And they have a really modern sound - alternative / rock. (Some 80s artist come back and still sound like they are stuck in the 80s - not these guys.) You may have heard the single on the radio - Life is Beautiful. The song (and all of the songs on the album) is about recovery. Good stuff. ![]() Quote:

My favorite song on the albums is 'Tomorrow' awesome lyrics. But I like the entire album. I read the book a few weeks ago. WOW is all I can say. I cried sad tears, happy tears, I laughed outloud, I gasped outloud. While his doc was different than mine, the feelings, emotions, actions were the same. IMO it does not matter what our doc is, the disease is the same for everyone. The disease I have does not discriminate by race or economic status. He may have stayed in nicer hotels then I did LOL and he may have never had to live in his car, but the we share the same disease and same addict behaviours behind the disease. I admire him for giving a voice to recovery, I admire anyone that gives a voice to recovery.

![]() Very cool that you read the book and know the album, too, Paulie. I think it is really amazing - to me it gives hope. When anyone faces the demon addiction and comes out the other side (one day at a time), it gives me hope that I and absolutely anyone else can too. To me, it's a journey from the darkness to the light and I am (as always) awed by it. And, I also agree - no matter what the DOC, no matter what the specific circumstances, it's the same story. Give it a listen and a read, for those who have not heard about it yet.
