| sponsorship woes.
When I made the decision to recommitt, I wasn't sure what to do about sponsorship. The sponsor I had at the time was great, we clicked well when we talked, but the problem was, we rarely had a chance to talk. It was very difficult to get in touch with her. I would leave message after message, and sometimes it took 2 or 3 WEEKS for her to call me back. (I'm way to sick for that). I went back to my old sponsor, but it just doesn't feel right anymore. Our conversations are very strained, and we have to push for something to say. It feels very awkward. I don't want to call her, because our conversations are just too uncomfortable. There is a person who I have wanted as a sponsor for years, but she tells me NO everytime I ask her. There have been so many people around here relapsing, that women with clean time and recovery are few and far between. I am working so much I don't have time to go to another area for meetings. (I barely have time to make meetings around here). I feel stuck. There is a man who I would consider, but I have to talk to my husband first, then the guy would have to agree to sponsor a woman. OH!! Where have all the good women gone!!!!!

![]() You're on the right path, Laurie. I'd ask god for help, too. Somehow, someway the right thing always seems to happen when I do that.

I am going to sit tight right now and see what happens. The first thursday of every month a large group of women here hold a 'Ladies night' of recovery. It is all recovery based, and they discuss a topic from one of the books. I plan on attending next week and see who is there, and see what happens. Wish me luck. I think last night I was missing having a connection with a sponsor, that is why I posted here.
