I've been surfing all day since yesterday for information about recovery with regards to low to moderate intensity addiction. It's as if most of the information online caters generally towards high-intensity addiction. I snorted meth 9 times for a period of six months, ranging from 1 to 5 hits. Last January, I threw my small packet of crystal down the garbage chute, but after 25 days, I went out and got another small packet. Yesterday, I flushed all of my meth down the toilet after sniffing the night before. The highs just can't justify the lows and the punishment I know I'll get into if I keep this up. What kinda worries me is withdrawal and its severity in my case. Most information online says meth addicts can't do it alone by sheer willpower. Only one website said that very few people can sober up just by themselves. Well, I don't know how much of an addict I am in comparison with other users. If I can do it by willpower, then I will, but I can use all the help and info I can get. Thanks. |

| JUST DO IT!! |
My name is Vic and I am an addict! I am grateful to be here clean another day. I know that many people do this deal on there own however that is not my experience. I know that for me, and for most of us here that we need all the support that we can get. And most of the people that I do know that say that they do it on there own really don't in reality for the vent to friends and family, etc. I know today that it is the first one that starts that vicious cycle every time. I also know that the withdrawals that I in fact did have wouldn't ever be able to keep me clean. We need to just focus on today, not use today is sometimes one of the hardest things that we have to do. I am coming up on 10 months here soon and it has been a lot different this time and the reason for that is that I have finally decided to follow the directions that are suggested in Narcotics Anonymous which are the Twelve Steps. Right now I am on step 8 which is really opening my eyes even more. I hope the best for you, just try to be gentle with yourself With Love and Respect Vic
